Exactly. The consensus seems to be the discussion with the FBI was about the Russian ambassadors getting kicked out, not sanctions. Flynn plead to lying because they were going after his son.

Flynn was on vacation in the Dominican Republic which is why the call was never unmasked. It didn't need to be. Kislyak wasn't making random calls to the Dominican Republic.

Bongino strikes again!

Kislyak making the call to Flynn is reasonably foreseeable. No need to explicitly expose and entangle the operation with a hostile foreign actor. No upside, but significant risk.

We have had sanctions on russia since the cold war. But the ones that flynn supposedly discussed hadn't even been implemented yet.

4
HuggableBear 4 points ago +4 / -0

I still can't believe that no one is making a big deal of the part from the released notes where they say they looked into it because the Russians weren't responding the way they expected, so they decided to check and see if the incoming admin was talking with them and telling them not to.

How are people just glossing over that? It was obvious at the time and still is today that Obama's actions were intended as nothing more than a spiteful attempt to poison the well for Trump with Russia. A lame duck President kicks out a bunch of ambassadors and drops sanctions on a country right before he leaves? To what purpose other than to make things difficult for the new admin?

Anybody with a brain could look at that and say "What a puffed up clown. Anything he does now will just be undone in a few weeks. Way to show your ass."

But now they admitted that they did it expecting a big response from Russia. Hell, that was the intent. But nobody is even mentioning it.

If they hadn't thrown a temper tantrum in an attempt to sabotage the incoming President, there wouldn't have been anything to discuss in the first place and Flynn wouldn't have had to put out any fires.

There is only one version of the transcripts, which is what the DNI released, and the only mention of the sanctions was by Kislyak.

Schiffty, the Dims, and the media all claimed Flynn discussed removing the sanctions, that was a bald-faced lie. Flynn didn't even ask Russia to not retaliate. He only asked that they keep their response reciprocal.

59
NotNolan 59 points ago +59 / -0

They were basing that claim on that phony summary. That summary is the Obama birth certificate of call summaries

53
droden 53 points ago +53 / -0

It makes me wonder if the only reason why Obama kicked the Russians out of the U.S. and slapped more sanctions on Russia was just to gin up the entire Russia collusion narrative. If it was and there's ANY paper trail of it, Obama is toast. This may be the reason why he doesn't have a "presidential Center" yet and he won't hand over White House documentation to the National Archives. Since he won't hand over the documentation to the National Archives, the National Archives won't help him build his "Presidential Center". Most modern Presidents have had their Presidential LIBRARIES (not centers) built within one or two years of leaving office. Obama hasn't even broken ground yet.

34
saveMySpeech 34 points ago +34 / -0

That's what I am suspecting. Look at the dates. Obama knew Flynn was in Dominican Republic on Dec 29. He expels 35 Russian diplomats on Dec 29 -> which obviously would make an ambassador call the incoming national security advisor. And since Flynn was outside US, they could get his conversation.

17
BigleaguendTouchee 17 points ago +17 / -0 (edited)

And I would go even further and say that someone asked Amb Kissedmycrack to call Flynn and explicitly mention sanctions. Not once but twice.

Flynn was too good for them even during an ambush setup.

The call sounds like a setup call like with the Quid pro quo bullshit.

7
saveMySpeech 7 points ago +8 / -1

100%. Reading it:

KISLYAK: We agree. One of the problems among the measures that have been announced today is that now FSB and GRU are sanctions, are sanctioned, and ask myself, uh, docs it mean that the United States isn't willing to work on terrorist threats?

It seems like he's repeating it on purpose or something.

6
IncredibleMrE1 6 points ago +6 / -0

It's an interesting angle and entirely plausible, but idk. He misspeaks in other places in similar ways. It seemed to me more like a non-native English speaker using the wrong word or form of a word.

Randalous83 8 points ago +8 / -0

If I remember correctly there was a lawsuit to stop it from being built at the planned location. Obama, being the asshoe narcissist he is, wants to rip up existing park (which I believe is a historical landmark) to build his center, which will have play areas and wetlands and blah blah blah.

So basically his idea of giving back to the community is to take existing things and refashion them in his image. Kinda like everything he did as President.

Was supposed to be open in 2020 but his website is still asking for donations to fund it.

5
Smurfection 5 points ago +5 / -0

He's also trying to turn most of it into an office building. So basically, it's built on prime real estate in a middle of park in Chicago. He's trying to do what Trump accomplished as a private citizen in New York.

The reference to sanctions was brief and what you would expect an incoming director to do. As Grassley said, all the innuendo and lies about the call have turned out to be horseshit. Here is what was said and you tell me how this could in any way be seen as improper: "So, depending on what actions they take over this current issue of cyber stuff, where they are looking like they are going to dismiss some number of Russians out of the country. I understand all that and I understand that the information that they have and all that," Flynn tells Kislyak.

"But I ask Russia to do is to not, if anything, I know you have to have some sort of action, to only make it reciprocal; don't go any further than you have to because I don't want us to get into something that have to escalate to tit-for-tat. Do you follow me?"

Flynn adds that the two countries need "cool heads to prevail ... because we have absolutely a common threat in the Middle East."

And yet the FBI uses this as a pretext to ambush him for an interview to set him up. https://justthenews.com/accountability/russia-and-ukraine-scandals/declassified-transcripts-flynn-calls-russians-show

Look again https://thedonald.win/p/Fg7kEgCO/the-only-time-sanctions-is-menti/c/ Flynn didnt bring it up but it was mentioned by the Russian..Which leads me to believe that the FBI asked Flynn about sanctions and he didnt remember talking about it. Kislyak brought it up and Flynn dismissed it with a "Yeah, Yeah". So, "sanctions" was mentioned by Kislyak and Flynn said it wasnt and then they ruined his life.

9
Trump4a3rdTerm 9 points ago +9 / -0

But so what if he did. There was nothing improper in that call. He's the incoming director talking to his counterpart. He's simply asking that they not escalate the situation- in what insane reading of the situation is that somehow wrong or undermines America? That is what you would expect him to say. And the FBI/Obama adminiatration used that as a pretext to try and set him up. That is what is alarming. Here is what was said. Someone tell me how this is in any way concerning:

"So, depending on what actions they take over this current issue of cyber stuff, where they are looking like they are going to dismiss some number of Russians out of the country.

Flynn adds that the two countries need "cool heads to prevail ... because we have absolutely a common threat in the Middle East."

https://justthenews.com/accountability/russia-and-ukraine-scandals/declassified-transcripts-flynn-calls-russians-show

Grassley is right: "all of the innuendo about Lt. General Flynn this whole time was totally bunk. There was nothing improper about his call, and the FBI knew it."

Even the most TDS individual, if they could somehow think rationally and for themself, would have to agree.

It's a violation of the Logan Act if you: a) consider the conversation a negotiation, and b) consider Flynn an unauthorized representative at the time of the call

3
Trump4a3rdTerm 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Logan Act has never been used in a successful prosecution, and hasn't been used since before the Civil War. Do you know why? Because it's clearly unconstitutional. And yet Mueller's team also threatened Papadopoulos with a Logan Act violation. Nice scam- bankrupt Flynn and Papadopoulos and threaten them with shit like the Logan Act until they plead guilty to something that will lead to no jail time or a week or so. And apparently it worked on you- you actually think the alleged Logan Act violation is legit.

There's no way this isn't coordinated. Multiple cities, people flying in to different airports to join the riots. This is Obamagate + losing the fear grip of WuFlu + rebounding economy distractions.

Unfortunately, this is also a consequence of not draining the swamp quickly and swiftly enough. Too bad.

10
thuggishruggishtrump 10 points ago +11 / -1

Basically it's really HAPPENING and the deepstate; since the virus hoax didn't work to cover up their treason (that's what all of this is, it's to COVER up their crimes) are now on to sparking a race war, this shit is literally being coordinated. This shit screams major FALSE FLAG.

Suddenly COVID-19 isn't the boogeyman anymore, we're all being systematically manipulated and controlled (or was lol). The jig is up, it's almost over for the deepstate but maybe that's just me being the optimist that I am.

Not only did Flynn not do anything wrong, and would have no reason to lie about it, but he couldn’t have lied about not talking about something he didn’t talk about.

And they knew all this right? They had the call transcript no?

6
Spotlight 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yhea they had the transcripts. They said the content of the call was suspicious enough that they needed to know the identity of the masked person on the call (Flynn). Then one of the people on the list that was released last week or so illegally leaked the name to the Washington post. The calls as we now know from todays declass weren't suspicious and they had no business unmasking Flynn and definitely no business leaking classified information to the press.

3
Deplorable_Yankee 3 points ago +3 / -0

They had the transcipt from Dec 29, 2016 due to the fact that Flynn was out of country when Kislyak called him. Yes the FBI had it and it did not even warrant an unmasking.

If the Flynn calls turn out to be nothing out of the ordinary, then it's game over for the FBI, CIA, NSA, DNC, Comey, Brennan, Obama, Hillary, Eric Holder, etc etc etc.

They have to go to jail. All of them.

5
Deplorable_Yankee 5 points ago +5 / -0

I wish it would be that easy. I think deep state will cause civil war to stay out of jail to be honest.

5
CCP_Virus 5 points ago +5 / -0

I read the transcripts. If they went after him for that, then it's not fun anymore. Like, this is not a game anymore. We had fun with the ''deep state'' thing but this makes it real.

If I was in charge of things, anyone involved in this attempted coup would get skinned alive on live television.

5
Deplorable_Yankee 5 points ago +5 / -0

Agreed, this is a very serious situation. There is no telling how far these people will go to protect what they have built over the past 5 decades. Our government has two sides. The one we call deep state deserves to be launched into space with no suits while duct taped to the outside of the spacecraft.

5
CCP_Virus 5 points ago +5 / -0 (edited)

My only ''concern'' is that President Trump is a surprisingly measured guy in his actions.

He never goes scorch the earth right away. He punishes but always gives chances for redemption. That might work for small issues.

But this Flynn situation is beyond serious. I don't think that anything short of a scorched the earth action will work. It's not an embryo of a police state that we have here. It's way passed that.

Dude I'm thinking of getting rid of my cell phone and laptop. These people have no limits and can plant stuff on your devices. There are no limits and no laws. And they have all the power.

3
Deplorable_Yankee 3 points ago +3 / -0

I agree with ya pede. The phone and pc thing is not paranoia. If we lose in november I might do exactly what you are thinking about doing. If this deep state or whatever you want to call it get the reigns again I think they will try to destroy us all.

3
CCP_Virus 3 points ago +3 / -0 (edited)

Final thought: remember that the judiciary is in their pocket as well. See ''Judge'' Emmet Sullivan in the Flynn case.

Everything is weaponized. And it's not even a joke anymore. It's real.

So, Kisliack left a voice mail to General Flynn was enough to investigate him for Muh Russian Collusion. I read the whole Transcript and General Flynn was doing everything for America's interest and Obama was trying to set up Traps with trying to have a UN Resolution to condemn Israel and expel Russian diplomats weeks before leaving office hoping Flynn would break the Logan Act and trying and clean up Obama's shit show days before leaving office trying to make Trump's transition as difficult as possible. Obama's fake Russia collusion bullshit cost our country hundreds of millions in wasted time and money and target great people like General Flynn.

I posted this on r/Conservative but there isn't much of a discussion going on over there yet. I could use some insight because I feel like I'm missing something that other people aren't (ex. Bongino).

Ok I'm trying to understand here and would appreciate some help. I get that this could have been a setup, or at least a very unusual prosecution due to political bias. I get that the Logan act is kind of... iffy... and Flynn probably had no reason to try to cover his butt. I get that there were likely bad actors all around including the FBI. I get that the Obama administration may have orchestrated the whole thing and laid a trap, partly because they were pissed Flynn saw China as a bigger threat than Russia, and, well, the motivations don't really matter at this moment. Hopefully we get some clarity on that eventually.

But from what I'm reading today it looks like Flynn did clearly lie to the FBI about the calls and that may have had a material impact on their investigation. Are we trying to dispute that? What am I missing?

Declassified transcript has Flynn asking Russia not to respond in a tit-for-tat manner after the expulsions. He even uses that phrase directly. His signed confession states that he explicitly denied that in his FBI interview. On the face of it it seems like an open and shut case for lying. (Under oath?) Forgetting whether or not it was a set up for a minute, he clearly had the call and then signed a document stating that he lied about the contents of that call. Why are quite a few smart people saying he's not guilty?

The only thing I can piece together based on what I've read is that possibly someone at the FBI doctored the 302, and the original one cannot be produced (very suspicious). And Flynn confessed because they were targeting his son or had something else on him. In other words, he plead guilty to something he didn't do. Maybe he did tell the FBI about the contents of the call in the interview and they doctored it to look like he didn't? So the entire thing was a setup and the FBI evidence was fabricated? His confession was to fake evidence?

Am I missing a piece here...

3
flashersenpai 3 points ago +4 / -1

Read AG Barr's letter explaining the dismissal. It explains the reasons clearly. In short, Flynn was not proven to have lied intentionally or to have done so in a way that "materially" affects an investigation.

Basically, you shouldn't be arrested for misremembering, or even lying about, the weather when it has nothing to do with what's being investigated. Especially when that investigation was A) supposed to be closed administratively already and B) the FBI could just look up the weather report (phone transcript) instead of trying to get you to misremember/lie.

1
jstorz 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks I will do that. Yeah that all makes sense... I still have a hard time believing Flynn didn't remember something like that, but I fully get that it doesn't really matter because it was all a setup. Just feels like he is not 100% blame free, and unfortunately that's big distraction. But agree 100% with the dismissal.

I just hate seeing every leftist news outlet tonight headlining that "this confirms Flynn lied". It's a scapegoat for the real story.

2
flashersenpai 2 points ago +2 / -0

Flynn probably didn't spend much mental effort trying to remember. There was no lawyer and he directly stated the FBI has the transcripts anyway so they can just check. Also, if they asked about "sanctions" it's reasonable he didn't think he did given he talked about response to the expulsion of the russians.

The Logan Act is a federal law that "criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized American citizens with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States."

So it depends how you define negotiation and unauthorized in this context.

"And also, basically we have to take these, these enemies on, that we have. And we definitely have a common enemy. You have a problem with it, we have a problem with it in this country, and we definitely have a problem with it in the Middle East,” he said.

Gen Flynn was going to expose the common "invisible" enemy within. They had to take him down, he knows where all the bodies are buried.

1
Deplorable_Yankee 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thus why Judge Sullivan is trying to stall Flynn from freedom... He is the key to most of this. I expect admiral Rogers to pop back into all of this soon.

1
Sleazeball 1 point ago +1 / -0

Flynn pled guilty to ensnare the rats. Consider how you could prove in court, with actual evidence, the corruption of so many rats, and get an actual conviction. He knew he was the fall guy, but he did it anyway... for us.

He chose Trump (the chosen one).
