This is a sticky situation. I wouldn't want to be behind a rifle when the target could be an American. What's the Guard supposed to do if the rioters get in their faces? Shoot them?
Didn't mean to imply that it was the only option, but the Guardsmen I saw from last night's pics had rifles. Most states' Guards aren't equipped with enough non-lethals to deal with a riot as large as the one they're facing. If they don't have the non-lethals, what should they do if their lives are threatened? I hope they're never in a position to have to shoot. Like I said, sticky situation.
