They've never had to bribe some local asshat official just to get a permit to dig a well to keep your family hydrated. They've never seen a real protest, where the cops don't use rubber bullets - they use live ammunition and aren't afraid to shoot the moment they feel even partway threatened.
There are times where, to my spiritual shame, I find myself praying that the cops finally say 'fuck it' and cut loose with a volley of small-arms fire and go full Kent State on these little fucks. Give 'em a taste of consequence. Let them know their little fantasy requires a lot of ugly reality. But then I know that it may be too late for that - that some of these shits would consider it a challenge, and the only correction they'll understand is death itself.
