IMO cops shouldn’t be supporting their weight on citizens’ necks for extended periods of time. I think it appropriate that the officer be forced to defend his actions in court.

In a country of 330,000,000 people, every week will offer some opportunity such as the Floyd death to capitalize on - just like any conversation might have been weaponized against Trump, or Flynn.
Semi-encouraging the rioters as many authorities have done encourages more chaos and damage to the republic.
Jam those jails full. Anyone out vandalizing, burning, throwing bricks, stealing, etc has given up any pretense that they care about COVID-19 do jail should be no issue. Set no bail, they are a risk if released. Let them go to trial and try to explain why their actions were lawful.
