welcome to the right side of history

I understand what you're trying to say here but please don't use this phrase. There is no right side of history and thinking there is eventually leads to the type of behavior we're seeing from the left these days - that self-righteous, holier-than-thou attitude that makes them think everyone who doesn't agree with them is beneath them and therefore subject to whatever physical, mental, or emotional abuse they deem fit.

History is a chaotic mess and the only "right side" is the here and now and doing your best to treat yourself, your family, and your community with the love and respect it deserves. Do what you can to lift those around you up and (hopefully) above yourself because a rising tide lifts all boats.

12
Horkers4Trump 12 points ago +12 / -0

Yeah, history is written by the winners, so whoever wins is on the "right side". The ruling class of China would definitely tell you they're on the right side of history.

Besides, it's just a stupid phrase anyway.

a rising tide lifts all boats

What if the boats are burning?

And we're obviously on the "right" side of this timeline, unless you consider irrationality, violence, lies, treason, and pedophilia the correct side.

Yeah I get where you're going, but the phrase "the right side of history" is pretty loaded with marxist implications. Marx believed that communism was the natural evolution of all human civilizations, it was just an issue of how painful the trip was. The "right side of history" was the side pushing for that transition as fast as possible, as he claimed you were the one working with the natural evolution of society.

He was full of shit but yeah, that's why that phrase is kinda a trigger that the user might be a fucking commie.

we deprogrammed ourselves. that was really something wasnt it. my first redpill was the '16 DNC, and then came Seth Rich, and then Pedosta dumps, and pedosta dumps was the MOAB redpill.

When I realized I had been brainwashed, I started getting help from scientology support boards. They really helped a lot. I feel so much better now. Im not depressed all the time anymore.

This incident was for me a red pill on what the left has become. https://twitter.com/PrisonPlanet/status/863040667869745156?s=20

The man being called a Nazi by Antifa happens to be Jewish.

5
ButteryFumes 5 points ago +5 / -0

That was a clever idea to ask for help there. What was the most helpful thing you learned? I had terrible cognitive dissonance when I was red pilled. I felt like I walked around for a month or more with some weird pair of glasses on.

4
rooftoptendie 4 points ago +4 / -0

It helps with all sorts of different aspects of what happened, for instance how after you leave the cult, you realize how isolated you are without them... how much time was lost... how much space in your brain was taken up with crap that whole time... how to support loved ones who are still in the cult... how to slowly pick up the pieces of your life and your mind and start over...

Maybe the most valuable thing it helped me with is the actual background and working mechanisms behind how the brainwashing works. Those boards led me eventually to David Snyder and Milton Erickson and other hypnosis specialists, and background on how Hubbard developed scientology in the first place. For me knowing how the brainwashing worked is the most useful thing to me now, many years on, because now I can recognize brainwashing attempts when I see them, and I can recognize cognitive dissonance when i feel it and often can locate where the CD is coming from and fix it right away.

Some days there is a shitty feeling like I wasted my life, or like large parts of my life and my mind were stolen from me. The scientology support boards are full of stories of people with the exact same feelings, and it shows how no matter what happened to you, you can pick up and start over as long as you are patient with yourself.

It also taught me to be patient with others who are still brainwashed, because you can't just snap your fingers and change people. There are not any magic words you can say to get them to understand, it just takes time.

ButteryFumes 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you so much for this thorough reply. Fascinating. And when we realize it’s been perpetrated on the entire public via the media... it’s heartbreaking.

I also find it fascinating the parallels here between this situation and being in any kind of relationship (working, romantic, or familial) with someone with a personality disorder or a psychopath. The Democratic Party is truly the mass embodiment of psychopathy. All they care about is power and control, with no conscience.

I was in the same boat my friend. I am naturally curious and I wanted to see why TD got a lot of hate on Reddit. At first I did laugh at the pedes but I lurked. I wanted to at least understand. I would see stories and the comments would debunk the story and I thought they were crazy but then the media outlet had to do corrections. I was dumbfounded how right TD was. The media blasts fake news, people get upset at it and won't even dive into the article, just take the headline at face value and spew headlines and people believed it and they waited the last second to correct it.

I found Ben Shapiro and Milo. I love a good roast and Milo was perfect for me. I can take the heat and dish it out. Even personal attacks are fucking awesome. Even as a Lib I liked it. So it was fun to see those Milo compilation videos and Ben as well, and Steven Crowder was icing on the cake. Which reminds me, I need to become a member!

Not once did these people make me feel stupid for not understanding something. When I was a Liberal they loved doing that. Ground you into submission until you believed what they say.

This is the moment every undecided moderate D and Independent runs full tilt away from the D party. This rioting is blatantly the fault of the D govs and the msm can't even hide it anymore.

49
Throwawaycuzmeh 49 points ago +50 / -1

Nope. Moderate democrats were drowning in cognitive dissonance because they were seeing the radical left burn down their democrat cities.

Then democrat leaders and their pet media tossed a life-preserver in the water: it’s not radical leftists but white supremacists who are burning down your city! The moderate democrats grabbed on to that life-preserver for all they were worth, overcome with relief and euphoria - because their worldview was once again intact.

It was never the extremists from their side of the divide who were looting, burning, and assaulting. In fact, there aren’t any such people on the left. The left are good and decent and kind and charitable and compassionate. If a bad thing happens, it was obviously the fault of their enemies. Who else could commit evil but the people they believe to be evil?

Tomorrow, moderate democrats will wake up more assured than ever that white conservatives and Trump were responsible for the destruction of our cities. No democrats will seek out the unprecedented trove of primary sources widely available on every social media platform. Deep down, some of the democrats know what they would see, and they know that the stinging pain of cognitive dissonance would return. They will do anything to avoid that pain. Anything.

That's a very accurate analogy. I always tell people, the moderate Democrats want to see their political opponents in gulags, the radical Democrats want to see their political opponents in mass graves.

4
quigonkenny 4 points ago +4 / -0

More like the moderate Dems want to put their opponents into gulags because they find the idea of killing them with their own hands distasteful, but they don't oppose the radical Dems (or at best offer lip service) when they run wild.

Many moderate Democrats were actively cheering the rioters, but because they are morally and intellectually bankrupt they will still happily blame Trump supporters. I'm afraid that the Democrats are far more radicalized than most people realize. Follow a few on social media for a while and you'll see what I mean.

A couple of things:

  1. Show her Trumps measures internationally to protect gay people and people's on the lef'ts reaction to it.

  2. Show her the videos being posted now by black people. They are asking for help against Antifa. How Antifa is destroying black businesses and communities and hurting the image of black people. Then ask her WHY the left not only lies and paints them as white supremacists, but why are they not calling the far left out.

No kidding. I was reasonably pro-gay or friendly to gays in 2010. Ten years later, they consider me some kind of Nazi monster, except I haven't really changed. I just believe marriage is between a man and a woman. Yet, they can do what they want. But they changed that radically.

8

President Trump has been in office for over three years now. How has your gay friend been persecuted? President Trump is the only President to ever enter office supporting gay marriage.

7

You're preaching to the choir here, pede. I'm just flabbergasted that I had to explain that...it's like...aren't you the one living in your own life that experiences that your life has gotten no worse in any way? These people listen to the echo chambers to be told how they should feel! Remarkable.

2

Because identifying as a homosexual that is part of a larger bloc is a symptom of deeper trauma. This person needs to find peace within themselves and with God first, before any righting of the ship can occur.

Hey I'm in the exact same boat. Suffer from extreme anxiety thanks to a bunch of nonsense that happened in my 20s. Hard for me to make friends, and since I'm pretty much at the point of being blackpilled, I find it hard to make any sort of inroads to any groups which lean left. Their nonsense just sickens me and I don't want to be around it, especially if I'm trying to unwind and have fun.

It's a lonely world. I lost my gaming friends and several close friends thanks to TDS. Have seriously been looking to get into more singular hobbies, like woodcutting and gardening rather than deal with lefty gamer friends anymore.

3
Dylclayton 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's rough, I'm sorry to hear that friend. I would be able to coexist with them easily were it not for the toxicity and always seeming to go out of Their way to make people feel uncomfortable/bad. I've only been a Trump supporter a couple years...was big into Bernie before then. Mostly because he was talked about a lot here...i was probably 17 or 18 or so then and am 22 now so i was fairly impressionable and I had a dramatic "meltdown" over him not winning. When i actually got involved i switched sides fairly quickly and began to realize all the hateful posts online from friends and even some family were basically directed at me. It does have a way to make you feel lonely. I've always had depression and I have had traumatic experiences and while in some ways just being on the side I'm on has put me through the mental ringer as I've come to terms with the fact people who'd known me for years and everyone who'd alway sworn up and down that I'm a nice guy would label me a Nazi now, i love being a part of all this and I love being on here as i know better than to think we're any hate group. It's hard but we're not alone.

A lot of people on the left only get their news from far-left sources like CNN, Washington Post, and NY Times, which of course never cover left-wing violence, and so those people are completely ignorant of the existence of violence from the left. They’ve never been exposed to it, and so as far as they believe, it doesn’t exist. If they’ve even HEARD of Antifa, it’s been so sugarcoated with the lie that they “fight fascism” that they truly believe Antifa is a peaceful humanitarian group who would only lay a hand on vicious white supremacist nazis trying to attack defenseless POC. Show them footage of a white kid dressed in black bashing someone over the head repeatedly, and they’ll either rationalize it as the person being attacked must be a nahtzee or they do what these idiots are and believe that they must actually be looking at footage of far-right white nationalists being violent.

These are the people who, when you mention violence from the left, will sputter at you incredulously, “What violence?!

You mean the paid organization dedicated to literally destroying American society actually found some fucking balls and are destroying Dem cities. The hell you say. I find this offensive.

I’m a nurse assistant, what about all the seniors getting killed in nursing homes? No riots there.
