Everyone that hit him needs to be charged with mayhem and aggravated battery if a weapon was used. Id say attempted murder but it might not stick, and lesser violent charges will have a better chance of holding.
I agree - attempted murder is a difficult charge to make stick though. You have to prove intent to kill. Attempted murder is fair and should be what the attacker is convicted of, but a jury is a jury. A couple tears, fake remorse, and a 'I just wanted to knock him out' is more than enough for a bleeding heart to ruin the whole thing.

I've noticed a lot of protestors ride in on skateboards and then use the metal trucks as a bat to break car/business windows and then ride away.

Thank fuck he survived. He learned a hard lesson though, dont bring a fucking knife to a gunfight. I hope he never forgives those animals.
