In 1903 persons of age 45 were regarded as able bodied. With modern lifespans I'd consider upping that to 55. You can have a lot of hours of practice built-up with a firearm when you're 50.

Tactical knowledge too.

the Militia Act of 1903, which became known as the Dick Act. This law repealed the Militia Acts of 1792 and designated the militia (per Title 10 of the U.S. Code, Section 311) as two classes: the Unorganized Militia, which included all able-bodied men between ages 17 and 45, and the Organized Militia, which included state militia (National Guard) units receiving federal support.

55 year old ... seriously you thought I was talking about ... weight? And no - they wouldn't be footmen - but they would be pretty damn good snipers I'd imagine.

you put lb after 55 XD - and yes - mobility is key (no argument) but the actions seem to be focused on specific targets (city halls etc) so there's lot of rooftops on other buildings to both call out crowd movement and to take reaction fire.

It worked for the Koreans in LA in 92.

Um - we're talking 50 year olds - not 75 year olds. Osteoporosis isn't common at 50.

See earlier list. We have quite a few in AZ. And they're very active around the border.
