I don't think I saw a single person in that crowd who looked like they would fare well in a serious fight. They really are not thinking their plans for revolution all the way through.
Quantity over quality. They may not be strong one on one, but as a group they can be pretty powerful. Diffusion of responsibility, the ability to overwhelm your resources, etc. Don't underestimate your enemy.
And that's the point - they grow more bold with each new "victory", no matter how small it may seem to us. Remember, they present themselves as their metaphorical David to some mythical Nazi-esque Goliath, so even a tiny victory is something they will champion and cheer on.
As their tiny victories grow into larger victories they're able to grow in numbers as they're able to recruit more members. A million soy boys can easily overwhelm a few thousand Patriots.
