2- the main advantage a gun gives you is the ability to neutralize any size differential and to some degree a number differential via the ability to kill from range. Again, tactically consider this.

You want Bird Shot because if you are in your home with an intruder situation, you don't want the shot to go through walls because it could be your loved ones on the other side of that wall. 1- guns are the great equalizer, but using one dramatically increases the chances one will be used against you. Tactically consider this.
2- the main advantage a gun gives you is the ability to neutralize any size differential and to some degree a number differential via the ability to kill from range. Again, tactically consider this.
3- one of the main disadvantages of a gun is that it has to be operated and it cannot do that indefinitely. When it needs to be reloaded it is going to require your time and attention. Not good when dealing with numbers greater than your own. Again, tactically consider this.
Why do I keep saying to consider things tactically? Because all of these things tell you that you should be engaging people from a distance and preferably with a barrier between you two. I'm glad this guy's gamble worked out but considering point 1 keep in mind that if this goes south this guy is likely gonna be killed either by another gun or by bum rush and physical beating. The reason I mention all of this is because of the video we have of sword guy which shows this exactly.
If this guy parks a block or three away and starts dropping looters with headshots, the odds of him being prosecuted for murder are far greater. Tactically sound, but extremely difficult legal defense as he can't claim the all-important "fear for my life" leaving his lawyer to only argue that he "feared for his livelihood." I know which I'd rather argue.

Regarding gun safety, this is one of the unsafest displays I've seen - and I watch combat footage of clueless solders in the middle east.
He brandishes his firearm, then runs AT the people in front of his (?) store. He has no cover, he doesn't know what he's running at. He could be running at people who are armed who could easily return fire. Stay behind cover, announce yourself, fire as a last resort.
