On a positive note, its culture that hardens a nation and makes it resilient against subversion. Some nations are strongly ethnocentric, or have religion or something similar to unify them. American civilians outgun the rest of the world put together by like 10x fold or some crazy margin similar to that, which is its own cultural touchstone that may as well be bedrock, no force on earth can shift this.
