It's a similar situation with the Ferguson riots. These people have fantasized about raiding stores, getting free shit, and burning cop cars for a long time. They are merely using Floyd as a scapegoat, an excuse, to do it. It's heightened now that these people are coming off of being locked in their house for two months, thus releasing a lot of pent up energy and likely rage as well, and that they're being assisted by a terrorist group, and being egged on by government officials.
You keep it going - pushing Floyd as the main story with the riots as an after thought. If the measuring stick is injustice and wrongful death, even assuming the worst about the Floyd death, the riots are the main story with Floyd just an after thought.
