I thought maybe there's just more site traffic than usual because of what's going on. Every major event sees more join our cause.
A number of sites I visit have been slow today - one explicitly called out heavy load due to a large spike in traffic due to news on the protests. Could be a lot of people just want to hear a different opinion than the lying MSM.

Yes. Heavy traffic - many of us using it as a news source - and no doubt being DDOS'd. So, I'm not complaining.

What do the cloudfare checks do? Why am I just seeing them for the first time today? Sorry, I don’t know much about tech.
Think of it as a bouncer at a dance club, checking people for IDs to see if they're legit. When you see it over and over, it's like the bouncer has short term memory and they need to see your ID again, even if it's 5 minutes later or 30 mins later.
In tech world, that's called a captcha and they want to make sure your IP address (think home address to uniquely identify who and where you are) don't have a history of malicious activity on it before granting you access. Not only that, but they will add your IP address to their record so they can track your activity...
This is why I hate captchas.
I think it's ddos protection. It's checking I believe metrics from your browser to figure out if you're human like a captcha does. I've had it fail before due to scripts running and its annoying.

Makes you wonder - what does “peaceful protesting” across the country about “rage over the death of an unarmed black man by police” have to do with brigading and cyber attacking this forum? I’ve never seen such an organized, determined, constant all-out effort by enemies to take this site down. Who is at the top of this attack? Who does it benefit?

It's because we are an assembly of truth they don't want to get out, all in one place. Everything they try to bury and twist, ends up here for all to see. If it wasn't for us, all we'd have is what CNN wants us to believe.
