Trump is holding back for good reasons, not the least of which is he is WELL aware that the media is basically begging him to use overwhelming force on these “peaceful protesters” that are attacking the police and secret service.
He’s doing every inch of willpower and wisdom to not go that route, for obvious reasons.

They want us to go to war with these people. As much as I think they should be lined up and shot, u/knightofday is correct. A shooting war is what they want. We can't go that route yet. Not unless we get the media apparatus on our side (good luck) and the Dems stop harboring domestic terrorists (ditto).
Unfortunately, he has little choice but to let it get to a certain point before acting, otherwise it would only further empower the rioters in gaining support. Kinda fucked up that this has to happen.
The other thing worth considering is there's probably stuff going on behind the scenes that we just don't know about yet. Or I hope there is anyway.
For example, if you say the national guard is rolling in, the Antifa people just run over to the next area. But if you say nothing, you have a chance at taking them down before they know what hit them.

I found two different vids on youtube, but neither had much footage. They set fire to a basement area, knowing that fire goes up. I don't know what's directly above that. No evidence of firefighters I could see.
I hear that, but Trump is waiting for that moment when it's overwhelmingly clear that force is necessary. The longer you wait, the more supreme the force you can use.

I don't think so either. I think like most of us, he's hopeful that no force will be necessary. But you can simultaneously play both games mentally. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Either way, it makes sense to wait.
