Depending on a persons situation, just the loss of $100 can really fuck someone over and put them in a really bad situation. That could be someone’s car insurance payment for their vehicle that they use to get to work for example. If they let it lapse because they no longer have the money to pay, they now have to figure out how they will get to work if they themselves don’t decide to then break the law by driving uninsured to get to their job.
Now imagine if it was a larger amount of money or someone vehicle who was stolen who only had liability.
