I'm ready to finally get some, but know pretty much nothing. I fired some recreationally like a decade ago, but someone else was taking care of all the details, I was just shooting them. What's some good resources I can look at?
What should I get? I was thinking maybe a pistol, a shotgun, and a M15? for whatever the most common ammo types are available.
Some of the guns out there I can't tell if parts of their design serve some desirable function or if they are just asthetics to look badass. Maybe it'd be better the less 'scary' looking there are for all the confiscation possibilities.
I just want something super reliable, maintainable, simple, functional, for home defense and you know, if the worst happens and I end up in some civil war trench cause shit hit the fan. Praying that doesn't happen.
How much $$$ should I expect to spend and not end up with junk. Who are some reputable vendors? Can I just order online? Or is shipping guns to houses not alowd? I know nothing.
What about other concerns? Does ammo expire? How do I store it? Assuming the world stays in one piece, it's going to mostly just sit in storage for me. I don't make enough for it to be sport.
Might be nice to have a sidebar guide full of links/resources for gun stuff. I can't be the only one whose been putting off jumping on the gunwagon yet.
Thanks for you help.
Start off reading the gun laws of your state. Thats very important to know.
Shotguns are effective in close quarters.
Handguns I would at least get something 9mm, not bigger than 45mm
I thinknyou were referring to an M16, which is a miltary rifle and has full auto which is illegal. An AR15 is the civilian version with only semi auto.
I would recommend spending some time at a gun store and get as much info from one of their experts. Usually really cool people and are happy to give info.
