we were hanging out last night, had a few beers, joked around a bunch, and debated a little. the momment that hit me was when he said, "fuck target, if target needs to burn than to get the message across than let it burn, they have insurance" and I asked about the small businesses and who is going to clean it all up, and WHAT IS THE ANSWER? WHAT DO HEY WANT" and they had nothing. He only disagrees with the rioting part because it is OBVIOUSLY bad, but he is fine with it because of ... made up bullshit?
when i said *they" I meant HE, there was another leftist buddy of mine there sayin the same BS so i said "they" - just to make pronouns clear because this is 2020 and. ya know...
yeah, im sorry to hear about your friends. I don't want to say goodbye to them because i believe they are good people, but they are lost. like really lost, like when i came out of college preaching socialism lost. I'll give them facts statistics to challenge what they believe. i'd like them to think critically, they think they do, but i'm always the asshole. im sick of it. im sick of trying.
In my case it is my father. I know exactly what you mean about irrationality. Unwillingness to even listen or talk reasonably. And constant insults and slurs regardless of what you are trying to say which isn’t even listened to much less reasonably considered. I know your pain. And I wish you the best.
it's sad and i wish you the best (especially with your father). it's like they are trained to disregard any facts you throw at them and just stick with who they are told to blame. We are on the right path my bother/sister. My family gets it because the facts are undeniable, but my friends don't get it because they are locked in to what they are told. I tried, I forwarded videos, i had facts and logic to dispute them but all i got was "INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM" Its pathetic and an argument that you cant dispute because if you did than you are racist. THIS IS WHAT COLLEGE TAUGHT ME. I went to a Liberal Arts College, i came out of there a socialist, i grew, i learned, and now i understand the bullshit. They are my friends, so i try to help them out, but in the end, I am the asshole,
As much as I want to say, "Thanks Obama" about all this race agitating, the TD.win crowd is just as disbelieving of Barr / Lil Marco ever getting anyone sentenced without equivocating about "the same things happening on the right."
Everyone is fed up, and watching Blue areas burn while blue protesters discover they're just meat shields for looters, vandals, sadists, and thugs, is hilarious to me.
Anyways thanks for getting that "A long time ago, we use to be friends" song stuck in my head.
It sounds to me like they're cool with the protest part, but not the rioting part?
I'd imagine a lot of people on this side would agree with that, considering we literally just did 2 months of protests to protect the 1st amendment.

Been there man. It's a heartwrenching loss to say goodbye in your heart to someone you still love. Good luck!
