The best drop-free mags are still the cheapo surplus aluminum ones. They aren't tacticool but they are cheap, function, drop free, and you really dgaf if you never pick them up.
Also, don't load 30, load 20. Easier to seat the mag in the mag-well and avoids 99% of the feed issues magazines have. Typically in the first few rounds (max loaded)

Yep, just get a bunch of 30 round PMAGs and you are good to go.
Also they are way more expensive per round. You could get one 100 round or ten 30 round for about the same price. Largest I have is 40.
40 is the best "high capacity" mag. Unlike drums, they'll pack flat and still fit into mag pouches.
