I want you to see it from my perspective. I am currently a Canadian who desperately wants to be American. I love and breath American culture and values. I have an American flag on my wall along with the constitution. It’s my dream to go to America. However I don’t qualify for any visa opportunities. You have a visa lottery system I am unable to be apart of, as it only accepts people from countries that vary greatly in culture and values. H1Bs are mostly given to Indians and even thought I have a honours degree in business, I don’t qualify for any H1B job. Only way in is marriage. Think about how horrible it is that someone who loves a country and wants to be apart of its growth is not allowed to migrate there. It haunts me every day that there’s just no way in. I check everyday for updates, like when trump brought up marit based immigration. I was super excited but that has been postponed and visa lottery still exists. I will never give up on the dream, but man is it tough.
