So, on the one hand, this jars the Blue Metropolises, (ok, so 'blue' probably redundant!) out of their monolithic thinking a little.
Just maybe soccer mom's going to want a little more "Law and Order" in her mayor next time around? And worry a little less about agitating for these assholes in their trials? And ... shaming/peer pressure/wtfbbq a little?
