Watching the Minneapolis Police Department abandon its precinct

Yup this is the exact reason I am gun shopping right now. I generally like our local police department, but if some video clip goes viral and we start seeing demonstrations turn violent....what then? Do they follow orders and hide out in their precinct as the city burns? Do they leave us? What happens if I call 911 then?

If you could go in a time machine and tell me about this 5 years ago, ha ha no way would I believe future me is a gun owner.

YES. Congrats on your decision to arm yourself and protect yourself and your family. However, don't overlook the other half of this decicion: Get yourself some training (both hands-on and legal) and go to the range to practice often. Ask the gun store owner to recommend a good training course.

What sort of gun are you wanting?

Everyone recommends a Glock 17/19. I want to find a local shop and look in person, but that’s what I’d primarily be asking for. Just want something pretty standard, proven for my first firearm. Also getting everything else ironed out like safety course, safe storage, maintenance before I go for it.

I have several of both and if I had to choose only 1 gun it would be the 19x which is like the perfect combination of both the 17 and 19. I carry it every time I leave the house. It is the way

I am a fan of the Walther p99 as. Also make sure you know the difference between range ammo and home defense ammo. Don't waste your money sending the more expensive home defense/carry ammo down range except testing it and every now and again so you are familiar with it.

CZ P10 C or F is superior.
