Those types of trained dogs would not do well sitting in the oval office for 18 hours a day. They are working dogs selected for very specific traits and need to be active and working to be happy. Belgian Malinois are on the extreme spectrum in terms of drive, energy, endurance, and intelligence, which is why they are the most commonly selected for combat roles.
They are selected and trained to the same standards as their human counterparts and would be completely bored and counterproductive in the White House. He would much happier out hunting down more terrorists.
