Nurse here... trust me, I cringe walking into work with that sign out. Im not a hero... its, just a way for hospital administrators to rake in that sweet COVID money and not have to give us any... a pat on the back. Make us into martyrs which apparently has made many hate nurses now, as ive seen multiple posts of comments just like yours.
I hate to say it but it’s cringy as heck to me too. Every time I’ve gone into my local clinic and hospital during my pregnancy (delivered a few weeks ago), there has been no one in there. No one. So if anything, they seemed bored and lonely with no one to care for.
I respect your occupation and all and thank you for what you do, but this whole “nurses are frontline heroes, they’re like Superman meets jesus meets Ghandi” has ruined me finding nurses attractive.
