As the title says, I don't want to sit idly by as LEOs are overrun by masses of rioters trying to destroy the city/town I have called home for the last couple decades. What, if anything, can I do to prevent our area from being burnt down to ashes?

I understand this reaction, but personally I think that will only escalate the situation. As a gun owner, I know there is a time for deadly force - when there is an imminent threat to the lives of you or those around you. That is not the case when rioters are destroying businesses and property you frequent when no one is there.
Look at every video of business owners defending their property with guns this past week. No escalation, looters turned tail and ran. The police being told to stand down and do nothing is what is escalating things.
