Right, in a libertarian stateless society, people would have their own security forces, and of course militias. There's almost nobody who can say "no, you can't shoot looters who approach your store with baseball bats" or "no you can't form a group to tackle, hunt, and capture these trouble-makers."

If it's a crowd of thousands it will take more than a "shred of resistance." In some places they have proven to be quite well organized, which suggests to me that the antifas on the streets are middle managers with higher ups planning and funding.

If you imagine a city of 1-million people, and 2.5k of them are protesting, you might have 500 looters. Even with that many protesters, that's only 0.25% of the population as protesters, or 0.05% as rioters. If even 0.5% of people were reserve riot-patrol, that would quickly shut down any riot before it could go anywhere.
Normal police would do their normal protester baby-sitting while we more carefully coordinate more lightning-tactics to nab rioters.
I think it could work, but probably not on short notice. My only worry would be people who try to infiltrate the group.

That has been the standard riot response since the 1992 L.A. Riots. That was when they decided to use soft de-escalation instead of suppression by any means necessary, which used to be the standard response.

The public needs to be educated that there are no peaceful protests, when there are people among you rioting. You need to either take down the agitators yourself or clear the area.

What do I "feel' it does? It says that any powers not specifically granted to the federal government belong to the states or to the people. Meaning in this case that it is the states' job to maintain law and order.
It WAS ceremonial but not because it was supposed to be, but because so many laws have unfortunately been enacted and allowed to stand that use the commerce clause (and other devices) to get around the 10th amendment. It's a travesty.

America has become so distinctly divided into weak men and victims VS strong men, who stand for the truth. We all know that good times make for weak men, and America is certainly at this point of the cycle where we have an abundance of weak men.
At this point, I'm not sure that its possible to take back America as a whole, or to make it great again. A civil war, or at least a major division of America into separate nations seems absolutely inevitable at this point.
I for one, welcome it. It's going to be a very difficult transition period, but a division of our country into one full of patriots and the other full of cowards seems like our only option to live peacefully and prosper again. Otherwise it will be an endless cycle of fighting and corruption, prolonging the inevitable breakup - which at that point, we will have suffered immensely and irreversibly.
I've been envisioning the same sort of solution. It's SAD, really... nobody wants to give up a chunk of their country to another 'nation', but it's becoming increasingly clear to me that either we give them a State of their own.. or we surrender the Urban centers to them and ask Patriots to abandon their homes/property and move out to another state/countryside... and the same results will occur - those of us in red states/counties will cease doing commerce with Urban centers (or their own state) and they'll go to war with us over that.
If we give them their own state, they'll ally with China or someone else.
If we give them the urban centers, they'll hunker down and drag this on for another Millenia, with the tech to maybe eventually suppress us in the country side..

I just can't help but feel the leftist culture of weak and subverted men is now so deeply embedded into our education and state institutions, as well as our media and entertainment sources, that it is almost impossible to take back. I hate to be pessimistic about this, but it seems irreversible at this point. These institutions are raising the next generation of Americans with the same mindset, while simultaneously destroying and re-writing history that initially made us the free and prosperous country that rose to global prominence. Not to mention I think the majority of the military and enforcement will be on the side of the patriots. The military is one of the few institutions that has not been totally compromised and with them on our side, we can take back our country through force.

If I were in Donald Trump's shoes, I would sieze the media. Television, newpapers, movies -- all of it. Current managerial personnel would be jailed, and replaced with American patriots of known loyalty. All material would be carefully vetted for seditious content.
There'd be chaos for a short time, but when the 24/7 propaganda stream was cut off, Americans would gradually shed their decades of programming and begin to face the world as it really is, rather than the illusion fostered by our marxist overlords.
And yes, I'm very aware of the fact that it would set a dangerous precedent, and that a future communist administration could use it to put us in full Soviet-style lockdown. Some very stringent safeguards would have to be formulated to prevent that -- if possible.

We had protests in Little Rock on Saturday. As best as I can tell, they were peaceful for most of the day and LRPD had it under control. Even if I don't agree with the protests, those people have the right to do so
Then, reportedly, Arkansas state police arrived in the evening and tear gassed the crowds. It turned violent after that. Arkansas is a purple state for local elections. If this happened the way they say ot did, it will jeopardize our chances of electing a Republican governor again this cycle. To say nothing of the rights violated.
My info comes second hand from people on the ground. Not from fake news outlets. Even so, it might not be true.
But my point is that it is possible to be too hard just like it's possible to be too soft.
Absolutely! If the protesters were just as peaceful at night as they were during the day, it would've been 100% wrong to tear gas the crowds if they were lawful. If they were violating curfew and refusing to disperse, tear gas is a good way of doing that. If they had been warned by Police to disperse but didn't, it was fair game. A lot of leftists complain about how awful it is to use tear gas, bs. It's WAY better than "dogs and bullets" as DJT has been falsely accused of. (Along with a lot of other nonsense, just re: these riots)

For many years I have preferred independent journalists, and youtube used to be a great source for that where I could dialog with people right there, all over the world. In every case the local's recount of the event was vastly different from MSM's. A time or two I got to comment on news local to me and again the facts I knew from being right there as it happened were vastly different from what people around the world had heard. Ironically, the only person arrogant enough to argue the facts with me was a Eurosnob - living in the EU and thus reliant upon the boob tube.

It’s infuriating we are in a position where liberal run cities are more or less OK with the chaos because the longer it goes on, the more likely an officer will have to result in aggressive means to protect him or herself. This will solidify the media narrative and continue the cycle. When folks on here have said ‘liberals would let the country burn if it meant a means to power’ are seeing that hypothesis play out in real time to any non-believers.
He should have told these dem governors to pretend that instead of rioting and looting they were going to the gym or church. We know much they despise that these days.

This is a genius move and what presidents are supposed to do. Support local governments. Now the local people can see their elected officials and police for what they really are. Hopefully enough will see the light come election time.
