My friend said gun control is all about stopping the other side from getting high quality high capacity weapons. This guy just said gang bangers have massive access to these types of weapons. Criminals don't follow gun laws.

It's good to make this distinction. He said that the problem is that criminals have access to those firearms, not that law abiding citizens do. The MSM will probably spin this into "Police Chief Comes out against High Capacity Firearms." Sad.
