Interesting, when no violence is happening, the streamers go crazy trying to find it. When they can't find it, the look bored and people stop watching. It's almost as if we crave violence.

as a former chicagoan, the scheadenfreud is very enjoyable.

All of these cities sung the songs of values, equality, and care. And all these police issues happen under their leadership. Then the DA issues happen under their leadership. And in the end the end they say "WE need to...."

They never blame themselves. It's always in the ether.

So, I think it’s interesting how people binge watch Ozark and eat up the violence on that show and then when two nefarious characters act it out in real life, including the probable money laundering through a front business, they are suddenly clutching their pearls.

This is how you stop these riots. Overwhelming force means most won't dare chimp out, so they just look like fools with nothing to stream, and TV has nothing to show. The public loses interest and the story carries on in prison for the rioters.

I've been saying all week that overwhelming force is literally the only way to stop ongoing riots. These things obviously aren't isolated incidents. If these were the type of riot that happens for a night then fizzles out, that would be one thing, but these are obviously going to keep happening until they're stopped.

So if the authorities have to stop them or else they'll keep going on, why wait? How much of your own cities are you willing to sacrifice before you decide to step in and do what you're obligated to your constituents to do?

Institute curfews. Bring in buses. Order crowds to disperse. Launch tear gas. Arrest absolutely everyone who doesn't leave. People will start to get the hint and go home.
