In the BLM terror model, which is being unrolled right now in all our Democrat cities, there are only two functions of "peaceful" protests:

1. To smuggle enough people into a given area that the subsequent looting and terrorism can't be stopped.

2. To provide human shields for those same looters and terrorists, both physically and as propaganda.

And that's it! Antifa is the hard power, BLM is the soft power. They work together as a very effective system. There's no such thing as a peaceful protestor; every single one of them is there as an accessory.

This doesn't count as free speech, obviously, so 1A doesn't apply.
