I visited Hong Kong last year, I walked with the protesters on the night of the mask ban. I saw them break into a bank and several chain shops. Products were piled into the street and lit on fire. Nobody took anything with them.
Interestingly, I knew all the shops that were going to be broken into based on posters throughout the city which accused said shops of collaboration with or ownership by Chicoms. The attacks weren't random, and they weren't for personal gain, stealing, or looting. Very tactical, very precise, very professional.

I feel there's a campaign going on to trick US somehow into giving greencards to 5M HK people (see Pompeo's recent interview). US does not owe them anything. We have enough riotous people here already. HKer are Chinese and they should focus on rioting in chinese cities.
They're also fighting the Chinese Security Forces invading Hong Kong. That is full on dictatorship advance on a city not engulfed in it fully and now is being invaded. It's a full scale evacuation happening over there of real refugees fleeing Chinese communists. Taiwan is taking them in and Canada. These are the people you more than likely have relatives here in the US running Chinese take out places. You should ask them and see if they're alright.
