yes, because of how the left is defining "peaceful" protests.
see, if they aren't currently rioting, they're peaceful. only when they are actively engaged in violence is it a "heated protest".
but as soon as they stop being violent its peaceful again. it's a bit like the red-light green-light game.
sometimes they'll even refer to actively violent protests as peaceful because at one time in the past they were peaceful.

Acting ilke threatening little asshats around the President isn't a game. These people just simply have never been held accountable for anything and are SHOCKED. They think any consequence for being stupid is "brutality." Frankly I'd skip over arguing whether it was tear gas and just give them that truth, if it were me.

It's hard to really tell what's going on there.
One thing leftists conveniently forget these days though is that their right to protest doesn't give them the right to block traffic and make life unlivable for others. They block streets and keep people from living life and call themselves "peaceful." Truth is, tear gas is justified under those circumstances, if they refuse to move.
