Dude, I remember being 12 years old and my parents sitting me down and telling me how lucky I was to be born a white male, and that life would be easier for me because of it.

That sucks, I remember being told that all else being equal (sat score, gpa) a college would choose a black student to accept over me. Also that a company would choose a black job candidate over me if we had roughly equal resumes. It was motivation to try harder, and it made be better knowing that’s how the world worked.
A friend of mine from college became a manager for a large banking company in a sales office, a name everyone who recognize. I would visit him and became friends with some of the people he managed. I always noticed the last two seats in an office of 12 people were empty. My friend told me he literally has to hire minorities, preferable minority women, for those last two seats because a percentage of every office has to be non white. He told me he felt so bad interviewing all these white kids out of college knowing he can't hire them because they are white.

Story time: When I was in 7th grade, all the way back in 1980, we had a black substitute teacher for a few days. I'd really like to see a mass exodus of white cops out of urban police forces; Its just not worth it today. I think that you're mistaking the definition of mistake for that of an accident. What that cop did was a mistake, a terrible mistake, you'd be hard pressed to find anybody that would deny that. To help you out here's a definition of mistake:

That depends on the outcome doesn't it? We only know things were a mistake after the fact, or after we already engaged in the action leading to the mistake.
Think of what I meant by intentional mistake as someone doing something wrong, knowing what they are doing is wrong, it leads to a predictable outcome that ends up being a huge mistake. Think of an accidental mistake as what most people would refer to as an 'honest mistake'. If I call you the wrong name because we've only met once or twice, there's no malice there, it was an accident, an honest mistake even. Now if I punch you in the face and get myself fired that too is a mistake, but it was an intentional one, I knew what I was doing was wrong, and I knew what the outcome would be, but I did it anyways.
I wasn't the least bit angry with any of it, at first I was surprised that he had them on, but all in all it was a good discussion, everyone kept it civil and got to express their different views. It was really a GREAT show.

It was eye opening. When Rush said “if this happened to a White person we probably wouldn’t even have heard about it” they were completely stunned. They have no idea how the media manipulates them. I guess Rush himself is proof that "If what happened to George Floyd had happened to a white man we probably wouldn’t have even heard about it," since he seems not to be aware that what happened to George Floyd DID happen to a white man and most of the country did NOT hear about it.
In 2016, a White man called the police saying he was scared and off his meds, but somehow, he ended up dead on the ground in the exact same circumstances as George Floyd did (officer kneeling on his upper back while the handcuffed White guy tells the officer he's killing him and begs for help, and other officers around doing nothing about it). But, unlike George Floyd, I think the White guy in Dallas wasn't even a known criminal with a long rap sheet that included violent robberies, such as the one in which Floyd broke into a home to commit armed robbery with a few other criminal buddies, and subdued a black woman putting a gun to her pregnant belly, and pistol-whipped her head repeatedly in front of her 1-yo daughter.
The Dallas case may have been even worse than the Floyd case because the guy called the police himself, I don't believe he had committed any crime when he called them, and cops literally MADE JOKES about the White guy and LAUGHED at him once his body went limp on the ground because he was dying or was already dead (link to article and video at the end).
While there may be a few cops of EVERY RACE who are racist against Blacks, or Whites, Hispanics (I know it's not a race) ,or any other race/ethnicity, the truth is that police brutality & abuse of power/force is NOT about racism.

Great post. I am a white dude that has definitely been a victim of police abuse. I do not respect shitty cops. I got pulled over by two cops who thought I was trying to flee them. Truth is I had no reason to believe that they were pulling me over. So, for their safety I got into the right hand lane when I realized it was me that they were trying to pull over.
Apparently one of my tail lights was out. Two cop cars chased me down and cut me off. They accused me of trying resist arrest by fleeing even though it was literally 100 yards before I finally stopped. I told them that I had no reason to believe I was getting pulled over. Then this son of a bitch of a "cop" saw that I had come crumbs on my legs.
It was 11pm at night and I was heading home from my university library (it was finals week) and I was snacking on some rice cakes. This POS cop tried to accuse me of having weed on my lap. I literally held up the bag of Quaker Oats and said "no, sir it is just popped rice".
He told me to get out of the car. I did. I couldn't fucking believe it. He wanted to search my vehicle and I said "no, I do not think that is warranted" . He had nothing to say to that (because he knew I was right) but proceeded to pat me down. The only thing he found was something in my left pocket. He asked me what it was. I told him it was a Rosary. He said "show it to me". I did. He felt like a piece of shit. He let me off with a warning.
Seriously: Sometimes "fuck the police" resonates with me. They are not always out for our best interest. We all will run into shitty cops and that needs to change. We give them so much power and sometimes it is necessary that we keep that power in check.

I have known some asshole cops but I also have family that are cops. My cousin has told me some horrific stories. I do not envy their jobs at all.
When I interact with them I keep calm, inform them I am armed, keep my hands where they can see them, move very slowly, and tell them before I am going to make any more and make sure they know it. If you treat the situation with empathy - like you are the guy approaching a stranger in a care and you don't know what to expect --- things go smoothly.
I was only ever arrested one time. Possession of cannabis. But I treated the situation professionally and dealt with it calmly. I spoke at length about the drug laws and the history of cannabis criminalization - I ended up getting my fine waived.

Dude, I remember being 12 years old and my parents sitting me down and telling me how lucky I was to be born a white male, and that life would be easier for me because of it.
I'm 36 now, and in 2020, I find that concept ridiculous. The sad thing is though, I believed it for a good long time. This indoctrination has been going on for over 20 years at least.
That sucks, I remember being told that all else being equal (sat score, gpa) a college would choose a black student to accept over me. Also that a company would choose a black job candidate over me if we had roughly equal resumes. It was motivation to try harder, and it made be better knowing that’s how the world worked.
A friend of mine from college became a manager for a large banking company in a sales office, a name everyone who recognize. I would visit him and became friends with some of the people he managed. I always noticed the last two seats in an office of 12 people were empty. My friend told me he literally has to hire minorities, preferable minority women, for those last two seats because a percentage of every office has to be non white. He told me he felt so bad interviewing all these white kids out of college knowing he can't hire them because they are white.

This will inevitably lead minorities to question if they received their position through merit or not.

Mistakes can be intentional? I think if you intended to do something then...you followed through with the actions you were planning. It's not a mistake at that point. Now if you misunderstood a requirement or question and then messed up, that is not a mistake but a misunderstanding.

Now if I punch you in the face and get myself fired that too is a mistake, but it was an intentional one, I knew what I was doing was wrong, and I knew what the outcome would be, but I did it anyways.

The Dallas case may have been even worse than the Floyd case because the guy called the police himself, I don't believe he had committed any crime when he called them, and cops literally MADE JOKES about the White guy and LAUGHED at him once his body went limp on the ground because he was dying or was already dead (link to article and video at the end).

Great post. I am a white dude that has definitely been a victim of police abuse. I do not respect shitty cops. I got pulled over by two cops who thought I was trying to flee them. Truth is I had no reason to believe that they were pulling me over. So, for their safety I got into the right hand lane when I realized it was me that they were trying to pull over.
Apparently one of my tail lights was out. Two cop cars chased me down and cut me off. They accused me of trying resist arrest by fleeing even though it was literally 100 yards before I finally stopped. I told them that I had no reason to believe I was getting pulled over. Then this son of a bitch of a "cop" saw that I had come crumbs on my legs.
It was 11pm at night and I was heading home from my university library (it was finals week) and I was snacking on some rice cakes. This POS cop tried to accuse me of having weed on my lap. I literally held up the bag of Quaker Oats and said "no, sir it is just popped rice".
He told me to get out of the car. I did. I couldn't fucking believe it. He wanted to search my vehicle and I said "no, I do not think that is warranted" . He had nothing to say to that (because he knew I was right) but proceeded to pat me down. The only thing he found was something in my left pocket. He asked me what it was. I told him it was a Rosary. He said "show it to me". I did. He felt like a piece of shit. He let me off with a warning.

I have known some asshole cops but I also have family that are cops. My cousin has told me some horrific stories. I do not envy their jobs at all.
When I interact with them I keep calm, inform them I am armed, keep my hands where they can see them, move very slowly, and tell them before I am going to make any more and make sure they know it. If you treat the situation with empathy - like you are the guy approaching a stranger in a care and you don't know what to expect --- things go smoothly.
I was only ever arrested one time. Possession of cannabis. But I treated the situation professionally and dealt with it calmly. I spoke at length about the drug laws and the history of cannabis criminalization - I ended up getting my fine waived.

I was just discussing this with a coworker. How many of these professional victims are just acting and how many actually believe bullshit like white priveledge? Rush has been telling us this for DECADES. the Democrats have convinced millions of Americans that THEY ARE VICTIMS OF SOMETHING and big government is the only solution to fix it. and this is what we get.

The simple truth is both sides want peace, but both sides believe it's the other's responsibility to fix it.
Unfortunately the black side wants whites to fix white privilege, something that basically doesn't exist and therefore can't be fixed. It sure as heck can't be explained in a way that makes any sense. Where the white side wants the black side to step up, take pride in their community and their work and be self-sufficient. Trump was getting us there very effectively until this year.
