It might have been a year ago, but there was a meeting of Sheriffs from around the country at the White house. This Sheriff sat 1 or 2 seats away from the President. Solid guy.
I heard that last week-end, roadblocks were placed at the base of roads/hwys leading into Big Bear/Arrowhead to keep outsiders out. No issues up there either.
There had been buzz on protester websites about setting fires up in Big Bear/Arrowhead.
"Last night, we experienced no reported looting or rioting in El Dorado County. Working with Placerville Police Department, CHP – Placerville, local and state Fire, and the National Guard, we are committed to the safety of El Dorado County.
Today and this evening you will see a similar response from us. This includes increased deputies on duty, National Guard at different locations, and the closing of Silva Valley Parkway On/Off Ramp at 5 PM. There is no County wide curfew in affect.
We want it to be known that we will not allow criminal behavior in our community. We also stand for the Constitutional Rights of our community and this includes the right to peaceably assemble.
We will work diligently to continue to provide up to date information to you. We ask that you do not spread unconfirmed rumors."

Lots of comments with the public asking where they should deploy to assist the officers! That county is pretty amazing!
