I'm not going to say there is no problem, but I will say there is no targeted problem. Police brutality is very rare, but still shouldn't really be a problem at all.
The thing that I hate is there is zero evidence it disproportionately impacts blacks. The truth is the opposite - black Americans are less likely to be victims than white Americans.
Besides the fact that police brutality occurs in a very small percentage of cases, it does NOT happen only to Blacks, and it's rarely motivated by racism (which is NOT something that only Blacks are victim of anyway). Despite the fact that Blacks commit the vast majority of violent crimes (which obviously causes Blacks to have way more confrontational interactions with the police than Whites), more Whites are killed by the police each year than Blacks.
A White man who wasn't even a dangerous criminal like George Floyd was, died in the exact same circumstances as Floyd did (officer kneeling on his upper back while the handcuffed White guy tells the officer he's killing him and begs for help, and other officers around doing nothing about it). This happened 10 months ago and there is video of it, but aside some local Dallas residents, very few people around the country even found out about it. Does anyone think that the national TV stations and major media outlets didn't know about it? Of course they did, but they chose not to make a big deal out of it because the story didn't fit the left's 'racism' narrative.
The Dallas case may have been even worse than the Floyd case because the guy called the police himself saying he was scared and off his meds, I don't believe he had committed any crime when he called them, and cops literally MADE JOKES about the White guy and LAUGHED at him once his body went limp on the ground because he was dying or was already dead (link to article and video at the end).
While there may be a few cops of EVERY RACE who are racist against Blacks, or Whites, or Hispanics (I know it's not a race), or any other race/ethnicity, the truth is that police brutality & abuse of power/force is NOT about racism.
Yeah, well, we all know Snopes is part of the leftist brainwashing machine.
They say that in "total numbers" more White than Black people are killed by the police because there are a lot more White than Black people in the U.S., and then they say that, "overall," Black people are "more likely" to be killed by the police than White people. This only makes sense if they mean to say that a higher percentage of the Black population is more likely to be killed by the police than the percentage of the White population. However, while they say that more Whites are killed by police only because Whites supposedly comprise a roughly five times greater share of the U.S. population than Blacks, when they try to say that Blacks are actually "more likely" to be killed by police than Whites, they purposefully fail to mention that a higher percentage of the Black population is more likely to be killed by the police because the percentage of the Black population that commits violent crimes is much higher than the percentage of the White population that commits violent crimes.
Snopes makes the statistics relative to total numbers and percentages of the Black and the White populations in order to make the number of Whites killed by police seem irrelevant, but they don't disclose that, even though Blacks comprise about 13% of the U.S. population, they commit over half (about 52%) of the violent crime in the U.S., which means that Blacks have way more confrontations with the police than Whites and any other race, but regardless of that, more Whites than Blacks are killed by the police anyway.
They just manipulate the truth to make it fit the "racism" narrative as much as possible.
Yeah, it's literally a statistically insignificant number. But due to MSM and leftist social media and black/leftist tribalism, it got amplified to nationwide riots.
Cops are about as dangerous to black people as plastic straws are to sea turtles.
The corporate media manipulates everyone’s mind with constant nonsense not by reporting facts, but by applying their own subjective, biased microscope to whatever they decide to pretend is important.
A black man was caught on videotape beating a white veteran in an old folk’s home. Nobody knows about it. It’s a non-story. Who they were, what their names are, what has happened to them, nothing. Totally memory-holed. If the races were reversed, it would EASILY be the biggest piece of Outrage Porn in the world right now. Hollywood would already be in pre-production on the movie version of the story.
We have to step out of the corporate media bubble and understand HOW and WHY they direct the attention of people like this. They make it seem like THIS particular story (whatever it might be that week) is clearly the most important story in the world, but it’s all a sham. They hand-select what to focus on and blow up to a national level.
Here’s another example. The boy in the Mall of America. A Muslim comes up and grabs him from the top floor and throws him over the edge of a balcony. (Thank God he lived.) I mean imagine that. Imagine a white dude grabbed a black boy and threw him off a balcony in the Mall of America. Think that’s a news story? Think Don Lemon weaponizes that? Think it gets a Twitter-approved hashtag? Instead - totally suppressed. I pay attention to this shit and even I don’t know the boy’s name. But I sure do know who Michael Brown is.
Couldn't agree with you more. The alarmism in the media right now is a pre-planned coordinated effort with foreign money and insider activists. This influential power needs to be broken apart and imprisoned so we can all get back to actual progress.
Police brutality occurs 0.00000001% of the time. Compare that to all other countries and police brutality virtually does not exist in the US.
Agree.
This meme is dumb because it assumes the problem.
THERE IS NO PROBLEM!

Number of people shot to death by U.S. police from 2017 to 2020 by RACE:

Jeeeeeesus Christ I wanted to look at the data for this and snopes was top hit. Check out how ridiculously biased the article is.

Like let’s start with what we want. And just massage the narrative from there. Full on panicking over facts.

Hold them accountable.

His name is Landon.

Yeah but a lot of these same looters continue to waste money religiously playing the lottery and those odds are pretty similar.
Life is fucking chaos if you wake up every day with nothing to lose. You make dumb decision after dumb decision.
Damn, that’s a very poignant statement and so true.
..and there are those who think they are entitled to cash reparations. How do you think that would actually turn out?
Eric Holder refused to prosecute any black cop who killed someone.
Not one.
