Can someone explain delegates to me? I got into politics in late 2016 and haven't experienced primaries yet.

For example right now Trump has 150,000 more votes than Biden in Indiana, but has 2 less delegates. I'm not sure what this tells me. Pls help pedes!

Each party has a different delegate system. They're apples and oranges, so comparing them is meaningless.
