But thinking more about it, I think there is something else. Before Trump, media always had stronghold on politicians. They could turn the littlest thing into a massive scandal on a moments notice. Most politicians would cow-tow to the media, please the media, and apologize for the stupids scandals even if they didn't need to.
With Trump they suddenly realized they have something that's not going let him be swayed or influenced in any way, no matter how much filth they throw at him. They absolutely hate it, they lost all their power.
Most people that go into journalism, do so because they have an interest in changing the world. Taking their power away to have any influence on politics, is undermining their whole existence.
Of course they hate Trump an they will do anything to get their power and influence on politics back.
Because he is smashing their dreams of globalism and he is not a Satan loving pedophile.

That's some great critical thinking on your part. The key, of course, is to pay attention to motive, which will always be covert. Any piece you read, has an intent. Always think about what the intent of a journalistic piece is, and you will find your answer. Once you start comparing one day's headline to another day's, it becomes increasingly clear. For instance, compare the stay-at-home headlines to the rioting headlines. It's clear they don't care if you stay home or not. So, why did they want you to stay home? What same 'value' would cause them to now not want you to stay home. It's quite scary. If Jeb Bush were elected or Marco Rubio or someone, they still would not be acting like this. It really does seem to come down to National vs. Global agendas. Believe me, I know journalists do not care about gay rights and women's rights...if that were the case, headlines would have been a lot different even just a few years ago. That's another strategy, I take a hypothesis about what I think they might care about and then ask how they would write things if they actually cared about that topic. It eliminates fake reasons quite quickly. Cause most fake reasons can't with-stand just a few different headline comparisons.

I agree with you. The elites issue the orders to their “captains,” which in this case happen to be heads of corporations, media outlets, politicians, and other people in positions of power. Those captains dictate the directives to their organizations. Even if they wanted to, reporters could not report neutrally or (heaven forbid) positively for Trump or anyone associated with him. It’s why we don’t see Melania on the front of every fashion magazine like Michael was (shudder).

Every politician for eternity has been terrified of receiving bad press, so politicians bend over backwards to try and conform, to try an appease the press. Under normal circumstances the media have an unbelievable amount of power and sway. Trump changed that, and he's not just some random rogue politician, he's the fucking president. Their world has been turned upside down, even 4+ years later they still haven't adjusted course or found a new trick, they're sticking with their age old tactic.
The general rule or general understanding was that you need to stay on the good side of the press so you can receive some good publicity in order to win an election, but Trump knows he can win without them, he can speak to the public directly. He doesn't need to water down his messages or pander to the press.

You guys may have liked a president since JFK, but they have all been insiders. They paid their pound of flesh to the establishment, and while they may have had some of their own policy ideas, they were still all only in partial control of the office of the president. Trump lived with these people, he understood how they worked and was part of it. He broke off and he owes them nothing, no favors, and in fact many probably owe him.

He has taken an anti-establishment position, not even to a great extent and that was enough for them to align against him. Couple that with his natural talent for generating media buzz and outrage and they're glued to him and addicted to the ratings. They are incentivized from every angle to treat him like dirt even though it actually benefits him in the end. He knows this and intentionally guides it to be this way.
I heard an interesting interview a year ago or so with Glenn Greenwald who runs The Intercept and he was debating one of the other journalists who works there and they had different views and the interviewer was kind of perplexed why Glenn would let someone with a totally different position work at his company. The answer was really interesting to me; see Glenn is a lawyer and switch to journalism while the other guy went to college for journalism.
Glenn said he was only interested in the truth while the other guy basically said that he was in it to break the largest story possible, seeking fame and professional recognition. So while Russiagate was bullshit it also offered the largest potential story. If you followed it and it turned out to be true or you were the one who managed to break the news with the smoking gun then you would be the most famous journalist in the world. So they were willing to gamble their reputations (lets face it not much to lose there) in order to potentially get the biggest story available.
So I think there's a lesson there, the educated journalists don't follow the truth but the biggest possible story. Also they are easily guided by editors as they have a lot to lose.
