I'm happy I joined because I like where I am now, and I wouldn't be there if it wasn't for that. But it ends pretty bad for a lot of people. Every vet I know that talks to someone who says they wished they joined but they didn't all usually has the same thing to say. You don't have to join, just go out there and be a good person. Find something to do and be good at it. Be a good neighbor and parent and worker and leave shit better than when you find it. That is doing as much as anyone else is and is just as important as anything else anyone is doing.

I have 2 friends who went in and one was a Medic and one was a Gunnery Medic (excuse me if I dont know the full terms). Basically one was a full medic and one was a medic that had a gun and field worked on people

It broke them and my friend had like so many people die in his arms. Both did and it ruined them for years

I respect it but told one of them not to do it

My friend who now has ptsd said he had 41 people die around him and it basically broke him but he is doing better than even me now lol
