Houston has a TON of black people and other minorities. But we all live side by side. Houston is not segregated or zoned. One of the richest neighborhoods in Houston is 1 mile away from one of the poorest areas.

People know Houston as a blue city , but we have a FUCK LOAD of (R) down here too. Every liberal in Houston knows 5 (R) family, friends, etc.

HPD not scared to arrest 200+ people and send the message.

Peace is possible. Chaos is not inevitable.

Before we get all PBS in here, people in Houston self-segregate just like every other city. It's not some kind of multicultural haven.

The reasons there weren't riots are the same as a lot of other more conservative states. Everyone is armed, castle doctrine, and the PD cracks fucking skulls if people get out of hand.

So... what you’re saying is... an armed society is a polite society?

It's not some kind of multicultural haven.

You clearly do not know shit about Houston and have probably never even been here. So why the fuck are you talking about it like you know something? You comment is a total joke and you should just delete it.

Houston is very integrated. Houston is not zoned. One of the richest neighborhoods in Houston is VERY near (1 mile) the ghetto areas.

I live in condos. Right around the corner is ghetto apt complex. Right around the corner the other way is very nice houses. This is all in walking distance under 5min.

In my condos is white people, Hispanics, African Americans, Indians, Nigerians, all kinds of people.

If you dont know shit about Houston stop talking like you do.

It's not like some cities where you have a black side of town and white side of town.

This persons comment is a GREAT example that you should not take everything you read on social media as serious or accurate.

I saw two videos of the Hispanic Houston Police Chief. In one he referred to people of color only as "my people" (excluding whites). In the other he blamed the rioting on "white kids with skateboards".

Perhaps his racism and scapegoating endeared him to the Communists and racists of color - which prevented further looting?

self-segregate

You're not even arguing with what they said. Comprehend before getting upset.

Calm it down man. I doubt he was going against you. He just is pointing out that Texas is reasonably based place already. No need to attack his character!

Most of these hyped up media narratives end up being mostly bullshit. Remember "hands up don't shoot"?

This could be officer-gone-rogue, or it could be selective editing. We will find out a year later and if the media lied only conservatives will learn about it.

I like how most of us have a similar mindset to actual protests and not riots. Feel free to protest whatever you feel as long as you remain law abiding and don't trash the place with violence, looting, or littering. I may not agree with what you are protesting, but I support your right to do so.

But as soon as there is any law breaking activity in said protest, it needs to be dealt with.

I don't support the protests; they are a racist blood libel destroying this nation.

FUCK THE LEFT AND THEIR RACIST BULLSHIT LIES.

During the virus panic, my city implemented a curfew. I moved one city over soon after.

So I kind of hate curfews now. Maybe they are necessary during riots? I don't know... I have trouble seeing it as anything but unconstitutional government overreach that they just turn on and off for whatever reason whenever they want.

But what about the virus? /s

We also had Harvey where looting ran rampant. We are definitely not going to live through that shit again. What most cities are going through now we learned our lessons during that time.

The rally for Floyd was HUGE and had very very few problems.

That is awesome. All cities should striving for that. Was there a strong national guard presence, and was there looting/rioting on friday/sat night?

So you had a rally for a home invader that pointed a gun at a pregnant black woman's stomach and then smacked her around when she didn't have anything to steal. Impressive.

That's not progress. It's 60,000 brainwashed morons buying into an evil blood libel.

Wish that many marched for freedom, instead most of the country just bent over and took it up that ass for 3 months for no reason.
