Its almost like Nike and Sony dont give ANY fucks about equality, but realize that if they act like they do, Leftists, who are complete suckers, will buy their stuff.
If the Left cared about what they preached, NONE of them would be buying ANYTHING off of Amazon, for example.
In all fariness, I'm sure their marketing department is behind this tweet and they are just saying what they need to say to prevent the twitterverse from shaming them into oblivion.
No, they don't need to comment at all. They need to fire their marketing department. If their contracts were guaranteed, void them and seek damages for all of the business Sony has lost as a result of these disgusting racist tweets.
"All lives will not matter until Black lives matter"
Nobody is saying that black lives don't matter, hence ALL lives matter.
Not commenting at all "in 2020" is basically the same as taking the opposite side on an issue. Just another reason why social media and political involvement by companies is a giant cancer on our society.
its all an illusion they buy into because none of these companies have any integrity. In reality, Sony can come out tomorrow and say they hope all the rioters get exterminated and the PS5 will still have record breaking sales. Its fucking ridiculous how all the companies kow tow to the Kangaroo Court of social media simply because they are scared of negative publicity and have no balls.
I laugh any time I read a corporate Tweet because I know it’s staffed by 19-21 year old diversity hires and studies majors. All corporations basically have their own private press now that instantly delivers to everyone on the planet all at once, and they put teenyboppers at the helm. It’s the public face to the world, and it’s managed by people still going through puberty that were taught in school that trends define truth. The more trendy something is, the more true it becomes.
Those are the fucktards speaking on their behalf to the world.
For all the talk about how they hate capitalism, they sure do bow down to consumerism. Netflix, Nike, Starbucks, Sony, Hollywood, I could go on forever. They are little sheep who obsess over Star Wars and Mario. I've never seen such a group of lemming corporate worshippers. I actually support capitalism and it makes me sick.
Amazon today did say they are stopping the extra coronavirus pay boost they were doing. Since everyone decided coronavirus doesn't matter anymore Amazon made quick work of their pay boost.
You're right, but there may be more to the story in some cases.
Consider this: they don't believe that the left will buy their stuff, but by virtual signaling they will avoid the online mob response that has happened every single time a company gets "called out" and doesn't immediately bend the knee. Then you see phone and email threats, doxxing, ddos attacks, hacking, internal leaking, pressure campaigns on retail partners and coordinating venues...it is endless, and while some of it is illegal activity, some of it isn't and neither can truly be fought against.
It's hard to say that all companies that virtue signal are truly down with the cause or are simply paying in to the protection racket.

Marketing departments are filled with leftists.
Isn't that basically a threat?

Yup. Like Gervais roasting Tim Cook among other celebs for saying they care about human rights while building a fortune on slave labor.

Their woke culture is so full of irony and contradictions its fairly incredible.
