On Sunday, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel sent a message to employees condemning racial violence and calling for the establishment of a national commission on truth, reconciliation, and reparations.

This is all you need to know. This sounds straight out of 1984.

Are we going to factor in all the property damage done as part of the "reparations"? (Of course not).

The only things reparations lead to are more demands of more reparations.

Will the Clinton's have to pay reparations for being part of a country club that excluded black people in the 90s? Or will it only be regular taxpayers who have never done a racist thing in their lives?

Reparations is also very dangerous, it is the kind of thing white nationalists love because of how much it would inflame racial tensions.

Demand for reparations is literally how WWII started.

Property damage and civil war casualties. People forget that thousands of white people died to free the slaves.

Any black patriots here?

I wonder what some black people think of reparations. To me, it sounds shitty & condescending... like you don't qualify for hard work or "making it to the top", so we'll just give you a hand out.

I'm all for reparations actually. So we just add up a couple hundred years of constant violence, welfare, property destruction etc. and start taking it from black Americans.

Blacks like the founder of BET are claiming they are owed $14 trillion.

So if we add up the result of a couple hundred years of constant violence, welfare and property destruction committed by blacks, I'd say they owe white taxpayers around $500 trillion.

Let's do it, see if they enjoy it as much as they think they will.

The problem is that they will just come back for more money and will say, "this is a nice first step but there's so much more work to be done" and nothing will change.

Re-read my comment. They owe US, not the other way around.
