This site should really consider linking up with some reddit alternatives or something, so that people who talk about stuff online while also having other interests (and supporting free expression) can channel their time into productive expenditures, rather than letting people be forced into making separate accounts for politics, or completely self isolating themselves
The reason 4chan became so popular for news, despite being an anime discussion board, was that it allowed other topics to be discussed and thus branched into a very ideologically diverse platform
Reddit only grew because it had a very laissez-faire model of dealing with users
Now that is no longer the case, and there is a vacuum
You're on it.
Pretty sure some of these no longer exist:

"Someone should do something" isn't a good look when they do it, and it's not a good look for us either.
Not much different than the freeloaders who think building a society from the plains is the same thing as asking for asylum and signing up for benefits.
If you have a good idea, present the idea or go off and start building it. If it links well with like minded people, good things will happen.
That is what I am doing, I am bringing attention to the idea
Do you see whining in my post about "poor me, I deserve an alternative platform..." ?
No, I am explaining the issue as well as the opportunity to a community of like minded people
Obviously if I had already completed such a thing I would be advertising it
