I don’t think many people really into social media ever stop to think about it much. People into it as users, not content creators and social media managers. Social media instantly went to shit the second it became a popular and corporate managed parade of fakeness. Most money put into it has been devoted to covering that part of it up. Most of the people hired to do those jobs had no prior affiliations with the companies they work for, and jump around a lot between companies trying to build up the largest resume on the social media version of the business world, LinkedIn.
Every once in a while there’s a real person from the company that just does it, but you look at half of their profiles when it’s a social media manager type, and it mostly looks like they can’t hold down a job for more than a minute, or have zero loyalty to anybody they work for. These are the people making the crucial decisions to represent your company? Trendy emo retards? I miss the old days of a company putting out fake PR stuff every once in a while when they have a new product coming out and saving their sales pitch for their ads. Now it’s like they hire creepy people to be your pretend internet girlfriend until you buy something. The fuck happened to marketing? Sony should not have a social media account that talks to people in that way. The only reason they should have a social account is to run ads, and to keep Microsoft from making one under their name and filling it with XBox ads and dick pics and dicks going into Xboxes.
Even the good ones, like Arby’s, seem kinda weird. They basically hired comedians to represent the company. That’s funny and all, but what the fuck are we all doing on the internet anymore when Arby’s is cracking jokes with us to get us to buy curly fries? The ‘new internet’ of social media’s seemingly been a net negative compared to online discussion forums and bulletin boards.

There was a fancy restaurant near where I live, awesome place with some of the best food ever that was around for years and packed with guests every night. From what I'd heard after the fact, the two had one disagreement after another and eventually the man had enough and bailed. Relinquished his interest and went off to open another restaurant, this time by himself, a couple years later.
The restaurant, still extremely popular but now under sole ownership of the woman, went out of business in mere months. What happened, you might ask? SJW happened. Beer was no longer sold, only non-alcohols. That single act killed a restaurant that could have literally run itself.
I'm sure that there still are good women out there with the proper common sense to be able to manage and run a business properly, but from personal experience I must say they must be few and far between.

I wouldn't be surprised if EA included required hiring practices in their contract for publishing games. EA is the devil of the gaming industry. They buy up developers, fuck up their games, and then stack them with debt and let them go bankrupt. The first victim was Origin back in the early 90's. Chris Roberts who is developing Star Citizen ran Origin and i personally believe that if Star Citizen is hugely successful, it may revolutionize the way games are financed and published and publishers like EA will no longer be needed. That would be his ultimate revenge, and quite fitting.
