...His primary strength was not military, but rather personal public relations. I gave him a new life, things to do, and battles to win, but he seldom “brought home the bacon”. I didn’t like his “leadership” style or much else about him, and many others agree. Glad he is gone!

Lol BAD dog, now going to go down in history as a failed general. Should have kept his trap shut.

All this just goes to show how truly hard Trump's had it. Being undermined at every turn by everyone left right and centre. God bless this man. The most tenacious human alive. I used to think oh no not another tweet. Then I came to realise (a) he has every right to vent and (b) it's damn transparent and crucial he gets this info out

Agreed.. and not only that, Rush has been in the game for over 30 years. Rush even said he knew Trump better than most people.

Strongly disagree. Rush has a HUGE fan base.

32
AmericanJawa 32 points ago +32 / -0

And Rush is confirmed to have direct access to Trumps ear.

Rush even mentioned on his show today that Trump calls him on a regular basis to see how Limbaugh is doing (about once a week/once every 10 days or so), and that while Rush isn't allowed to mention specifics because he doesn't have permission, he and Trump talk about policy issues during their phone calls.

If people watched the whole show the other day youd see he came full circle explaining to people how Trump DID actually jump on the situation. People get so deep on the ra ra team shit. There were plenty singing Nicki Haleys praises on TD just because she was "on the team", or so they thought.

If we dont hold them accountable it's easy for them to get mired in political drama and posturing, listening to advisors who still feel "above us peasants." Your allowed to disagree and press for better decisions. Otherwise, your just a blind fanboy.

This has actually served both Trump and Carlson well. It paints the president as a man capable of taking advice (which really shouldn't be a question at this point to anyone staying current with the news), as well as showing Carlson not to be a partisan actor, aka Hannity. Incredibly important in deradicalizing the modern left, encouraging them to read multiple outlets which conservatives pretty much already have to do by default. Furthermore, it doesn't make the U.S. look weak while excusing itself from a full on military engagement, peace being the important part here. If anything, I'd hazard a guess that it was Trump's idea.

2
rootGoose 2 points ago +2 / -0

I go a step further: loyalty is an all-the-time job duty when one serves a President.

Had Bad Dog Mattis served as his own elected official, his “independence” to do what his bitchy fee-fees were telling him to do would be more understandable.

Imagine being Donald Trump. Seriously. Everyday consists of betrayal, twisting of words, death threats, 24/7 worldwide coverage of every misstep. There is no where he goes that isn’t nonstop Trump criticism. Kathy Griffin was on the world spotlight for a day and she literally ripped her hair out and went pyscho. Lord help this man.

25

This is where an incredible ego can actually be a good thing. Trump knows exactly who is is and what he's doing, and not even the entire world speaking against him can sway that.

We've been taught that egos are a bad thing. But for leaders, the bigger and ballsier, the better.

If you read the letter in the Atlantic by Mattis is attempting to cause a rift between Trump and the military. He lies and says Trump violated the constitution by using the actual military to DC, compares him to Nazis and that Trump needs to be replaced. Ironically he states Trump is being divisive, as if his letter wasn't intended to be.

Mattis seems out of touch. People are smarter with the internet. He's directly using leftist logic and talking points in his letter. It's obvious and sad.

I am also not in military, but there is a trend that in every section of society, if someone is widely recognized or respected, they turn out to be leftist

'Widely respected' is an image created by the media and the left ecosystem

Economics- Paul Krugman

Hollywood- Morgan Freeman

Politics- barack obama

News - carl bernstein

Even noble prize is leftist

Because the media and social media is in control of the left they have created the icons.

I dont know about other than people here praising him a lot when he was in the admin.

How they got this image, whether they personally experienced it or it was a folk story circulating to create a positive image I have no idea.

Sessions was also liked here before he recused. With sessions his actions had effects which were visible to people.

But by the classified nature of military operations, we civilians can never know why trump and mattis had a difference in opinion. If we had that opinion or on what mattis was against trump, I may have had other opinions.

But this latest stunt has completely discredited mattis in my books. The thing with icons is that there image depends on what they say. Sometimes it is better to stay silent and not to reveal yourself.

One example is jim carrey. He used to be my favourite actor till he went completely crazy.

There's a phrase Rush uses that's perfectly true:

If they made you, they can break you.

Note that the few Hollywood types that even hint at "Not a Leftist" fall in a very few groups:

  1. Made it in one go. Was a bit part somewhere that simply continued or hit the jackpot pretty much directly. (As far as upper reaches are concerned.)

  2. Someone needed a hard bastard, and found one. Then let them be them ... because they're a hard bastard.

  3. Worked tirelessly in some ignored niche.

  4. Someone that had a clear hard break before 'revolting' and actively contends with them. (Kanye)

14
1776-or-1984 14 points ago +14 / -0

Time to make up for lost time!

10
ChrisSuperDude 10 points ago +10 / -0

I’ll put it this way, my dad and grandpa having Rush on when I was younger and would be in the car with them made me the man I am today. Rush redpilled me before red pilling was a thing.

2
CSMKek 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same here! I remember buying my grandfather “Rush Is Right” with money I made cutting grass. I was so excited to give it to him and the look on his face was priceless. We’d sit in the car or on the back porch listening to him on AM radio. Some of the best memories I have growing up.

He is a blowhard. But you don't walk in the room with the intent to find fault, he covers a lot of ground in an entertaining enough way. The callers mean there's always re-thinking various things going on.

The respect is in large part because ... he was kinda "It" for a long time. The media weren't as completely sold out, but there was simply nothing doing what he was doing. (To the point someone said 'Hey, I bet I could fit a TV network in that hole' :D)

9
Hodor124 9 points ago +9 / -0

Trump is sometimes a blowhard too. Doesn't mean shit. When everyone is out to get you pretty much at all times, as is the case for Trump and Rush, sometimes you need to be. Better than being a pansy rollover.

Mattis wanted to keep troops in Syria. That was a public disagreement with the President, and I'm sure there were other issues that remained private,

40
Dominick 40 points ago +40 / -0

He slow walked the tranny ban. He cried about Trump being mean to NATO countries. He blamed global warming for Islamic terrorism. He cried about Trump wanting to use the military to defend our borders. He cried about Trump wanting to end Bush and 0bama's illegal wars. I'm sure there was more that I'm not remembering but I was glad to see him go. Kelly too.

28
sun_wolf 28 points ago +28 / -0

Mattis withheld battle plans from Trump, his Commander in Chief, despite repeated requests for all battle plans against the Islamic caliphate. Trump had to fly into Iraq himself and speak to the generals on the ground to find out what Mattis wasn’t telling him. Soon after that the caliphate was 100% defeated.

14
GrabLifeByThePussy 14 points ago +14 / -0

Before the days of border patrol, customs, ICE, and the endless government departments/bureaus/agencies everything down to, gasp, border protection was the purview of a country's military. If Mattis was against using the military to defend the country, it's sole purpose for existing, then he didn't belong anywhere near a position of authority and deserved to be shown the door.

I hate to break this to people as I'm pro-military as well, but many in military leadership have been corrupted. They are politicians.

These generals (some retired) are taking money and prolonging wars so they can keep up their consulting gigs with defense contractors and other schemes. It's not good.

45
PraiseBeToScience 45 points ago +46 / -1

Anyone in the military knows that O-6 and above means you're a politician, not a warfighter.

Why do you think all those "Veterans for gun control" is all a bunch of fucking brigadier generals and shit?

1
Nellie_the_Beaut 1 point ago +1 / -0

McCrystal claims to be a “proud Republican” who’s “concerned“ about how Trump has damaged his party, but pretty sure the other cucks are hard core registered Democrats. So, all in the same political party.

This is the Obama "faggotization" of the military. Trans, leftists in admin, etc

9
ChrisSuperDude 9 points ago +9 / -0

Obama’s faggotization of the military probably pissed me off the most when he was president because almost all of the people pushing for it were anti-military sissies that would’ve never enlisted to begin with and the day before would be saying that Johnny American who enlisted In the marines at 18 when 9/11 happened and got killed in Afghanistan saving Ricky Football and Davey Elvis Presley was “not a hero” and “a dumbass who Couldn’t cut it in college”. It’s like when people that not only would never open a bible but would literally fucking burn if they did talk about how “Trump isn’t Christian” and “protecting yourself against rapefugees is not what Jesus wants”.

14
everylastjuan 14 points ago +14 / -0

And to compound that, 0bama and his handler Valerie Jarrett were making damn sure to promote the "right" people in the military brass.

2
GoingCamaro 2 points ago +4 / -2

This is correct. I can't get specific, but the fix is in for the military to go against the President. For what? For when? I don't know. But the policies are weeding out free minded patriots and making sure to keep the dumb and pliable people who follow orders without question.

The more I study these "Generals" the more I realize the only good one we had was Smedley Butler.

67

Fun fact: he was called Mad Dog long before Trump, and Mattis despises that nickname

This is Trump fucking with him and with the coverage

Donald Trump has a Jim Mattis rug in his bedroom. He's not actually dead he's just afraid to move.

Mattis was just a link in the chain of command, and he was never at the top. He should have kept his mouth shut. He's undermined his credibility.

I really bought into the Mattis hype and his comments, thinking this guy sounds a lot like Patton.

I realized today that unlike Patton whom I frequently quote... Mattis was never in combat.

Now I understanding that many high ranking officers never were... but considering Mattis's bravado... he is obviously full of it.

Doesn’t Droopy Dog Mattis have a book coming out? This is a three day story and a couple segments on the weekend shows at most.

This is the same Jim Mattis that dumped his own money into Theranos and sat on its board until the whole ship went under. Not a smart guy.

The idea that Trump was violating somebody’s rights when he went to that church is just about the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.

He didn’t stop anybody from peacefully protesting. But any time the President travels, crowds have to be controlled. It happens almost every day. The fact that they were protesting doesn’t change that.

Mattie was parroting a false narrative.

This hurts....always thought of Mattis as leaders leader...bad ass war fighter.

I trust POTUS and if he says he was a shitty leader, that settles it for me. I joined the the military after 9/11 and thought Jr was patriotic as fuck. Was ready and willing to die for him and this country. Turns out he was a shit bag and now Mattis has been added to that list as well.

Well, that he made such a public and incendiary statement based on wrong and incomplete information demonstrates extremely poor judgement on his psrt.. This poor judgement confirms he was unfit to serve as defense secretary, so firing him was completely justified. At a minimum, he should offer a public apology to the president.

Boy were we all taken in by this dude. Even Trump. So many of his initial cabinet picks when he was new at the job turned out to be rotten. Even today that's the hardest thing for him, finding people with the experience to do these jobs who haven't been dragged into the swamp.

Trump never goes after these people unless they attack him first, but is so unpresidential dontcha know.

Darling GEOTUS, now that the Feds, the DOJ, the NIH have been exposed, can we get to draining the swamp in the military...Where is Raisin Cain? Yes, the soldier you mentioned some two years ago?
