The president supports the protests. He just doesn’t support the looting and destruction of property. You can be for protesting and be against them when they turn harmful.

Here's my issue. There's a difference between acknowledging people have a RIGHT to peacefully protest, and SUPPORTING them protesting. I don't really even understand what I'm supposed to support. I agree the cops at best failed to render aid to the dead guy, and there should be investigation and consequences for that. I already agreed with that, I didn't need riots to make that my position.

Before the protestors became rioters, arsonists, and looters, I supported their RIGHT to protest, but never, at any time, SUPPORTED the protests themselves. The protests themselves, even before they turned violent, prevented the US from getting back to normal after the Wu flu panic.

Thankfully the constitution does not require a protest to be about something that everyone supports. People have the freedom to organize and protest regardless of reason or rational. It just requires them be peaceful.
