So I'm no expert, but as I understand it, Allah was one of the names for one of the many pagan Arabic deities. Mohammed latched on to that one as the "true god" much like Akhenaten did in ancient Egypt. Except Islam stuck.
Anyway, languages are fluid and if the only word for "supreme diety" in your language is Allah, you'll end up using that even if you don't mean the Islamic god.
It's like the ancient Hebews used El to describe YHWH. But El was also used by pagans to describe chief deities like Baal because El just means "lord".

What's the value of writing "YHWH" instead of Yahweh? I've always wondered about that.
Hebrew writing doesn't include vowels. They thought the NAME was too holy to say, so the exact pronunciation has been lost. We think it was Yahweh, but we're not 100% sure. I take it pretty seriously, too. So I don't want to run the risk of getting it wrong. Better to just use the tetragrammaton imo
Whether it's actually been lost or not is an open debate. Some are sure it hasn't been due to ceremonial law, whereby at least the High Priest says it once a year.
I have heard it originally had no sounds other than vowels. Which would mean you either couldn't write it in modern Hebrew or it would be extremely difficult to do so. I have no opinion on this but consider:
if this were true that would mean that when Pharaoh asked Moses who sent him, all Pharaoh heard in response was** the sound of breathing**. Tell me Pharaoh didn't get freaked out! This would also be Scripturally sound, as Jesus tells us He is God of the living :)

I'm definitely hearing vowel sounds, though, in the few Hebrew words I know but not how to spell, like lacheim, mazel tov, moel, Purim, Hanukkah, bar and bat mitzvah, rabbi, and oy vey (see what I yid there? :) So how are those vowel sounds taught to kids? Just curious.
Also curious: the practice of considering that taking the Lord's name in vain even includes saying the name in praise. It seems it would be easier to spread the good news about worshiping and glorifying the Creator in a joyous voice if we could say who it is we're praising (assuming he would even require praise and adulation from these deeply imperfect beings he creates by the tens of billions), but what the hell do I know?

This actually isn't unusual and has been going on for decades - Ever since Nixon the Democrats have always taken a full on attack approach to any Republican presidency. They tried hard to impeach Reagan and there were daily broadcasts about what an evil person he was. There was The Day After and nuclear propaganda. Blacks were starving in the streets and all Reagan did was give them government cheese. He also purposefully murdered the gays because he refused to make a vaccine for HIV. This led to all sorts of riots and insurrection as well.
With Bush and the fall of Russia they lost the nuke story. it shifted to the homeless (remember the homeless?) black unemployment and starvation and American imperialism that must be stopped because its not fair to the world that America has no balance now that Russia is gone.
All those problems went away when Clinton was in office and it was a time of milk and honey.
Then Bush II when he stole the election and an actual racist got into office, Then 9/11 and Muslims were right to attack america and the Iraq war a sham (although the Democrats in power, including Hillary supported and demanded the action and voted for the war - but blamed Bush for "lying" to them. Don't forget the riots and looting as before.
Then Obama came into office and black problems were solved (no they weren't) homelessness went away.
And here we are again.
It's stronger this time because they're really pissed off that Trump won, like Bugs Bunny he's outwitted all their Elmer Fuddish attacks to try and stop him and WORSE, he's been successful.

Is it bad right now? Yeah - but the US has fared through far worse - We did fight an actual Civil War after all, how's THAT for peaceful transition of power! The Democrats haven't encountered any resistance from the GOP for decades now and the tide has started to turn- of course you're going to see power used and institutions challenged. That's... NORMAL. We've just had the luxury (and luck) of having other people being able to keep cool heads or using proper counter strategies.
I'd even support starting NEW political parties to start breaking up these power centers.

(and this particular movement of the Democrats probably happened before Nixon but that's about as far as my knowledge and reading goes - might be related to the socialist uphevals in the 60s or just a steady drumbeat of what McCarthy was warning us about - but I trace this back to the Clintons, Hillary specifically who oversaw Nixon's impeachment, which has led to Obama - both of whom I'm 99% sure is running this behind the scenes. It's not like the US hasn't had dirty politics (or insurrections) before - our history is rife with it but it's all sanitized through media and public school history books and its this "sanitized" history that the Democrats use to promulgate their "new narrative" because most Americans don't know anymore than they got from their standard, substandard, public education and what they get from nightly news shows and the daily show - where they think themselves "informed and enlightened" because they watched a talking head discuss current events.)

I'm a healthy young not desperately poor white christian heterosexual male and I know for a fact everyone loves me and has no issues whatsoever with my simply existing.
It's good to see another fellow citizen not being persecuted for the color of his skin or other factors outside of his control! I am very glad that you also have equal career and education opportunities as your counterparts. I do hope we continue to live in such a society where people are not judged or hated because of their beliefs or thoughts.

Well we're just going to have to commit to obliterating the swamp between now and then. Federal law on voter ID, institute school choice, break up big media, repeal 230 - it can be done and peacefully. We just have to get clear and get focused. It will probably require peaceful protests on our part to force our Republicuck weenies to actually do the job. We are also going to have to start pushing back against every Karen in our lives - on FB, at work, everywhere. If we think ahead we can do it strategically, and without to much upheaval (other than what leftists will inevitably try to foment.) We can do it.
