Totally. They would’ve been shamed out of slavery in time. It’s an evil, unethical practice that makes hypocrites of Christians but the founders knew that we’d outgrow it. And to my black brothers on here I’m sorry. I know it sounds unfair to prolong such injustice, but the Presidency was never intended to grant one man the power to coerce all states to align with his whims. The US Constitution makes secession legal, and the natural evolution into a post-slavery South would’ve served all parties better than the war did.
