War, ACTUAL war, would probably begin the moment that central America said frikkin ENOUGH, and then there would be a crisis as states started attempting to secede. Probably starting with Texas, maybe other states as it gained momentum.
I have my doubts that most useful idiot leftists would try to secede; it would require too much work.
After that, it depends entirely on the reaction of the feds, not to mention the military. Would they resort to force, and would the military be willing to fire on their own countrymen? This isn't the 1800s where people were more loyal to their states than their nation either.
After that, it depends on A: how lazy the left is, or B: whether foreign powers would try to intervene. One thing that IS true is that non-leftist America has both the agricultural AND manufacturing base, not to mention that a ground war would be fought on our home turf. And we also have the know-how that the left doesn't have.
It's doubtful that we'd try to invade any cities; we'd probably just try to blockade them and wait for them to turn on each other before occupying the remains.
