Agree. We’re used to smelling the heat from the press ink because we get news so fast. Most people still have jobs and family so they don’t consume the volume of news that people here do. They are still learning about Elon taking the red pill and so on.
The long game allows a lot of the public as a whole to catch up and follow the major points of what is happening. Doing things quickly would look more chaotic and less calculated.

The way I see it is, they are now being caught "red handed". The rioting is ongoing, the public is aware of the mayhem (dwarfed public support. globally caused by Corona as well. Very important as we will soon see.) - and that is exactly the right time to throw some fresh "official cash-flows" on top of it.
The stage is basically set. Everybody has outed his position. Trump can then take the next step.
