Black children aren't safe if they live in the hood, but it isn't the cops they're afraid of. It's not the cops that'll beat you up if you "act white" and do well in school. It's not the cops waiting for you in the bathrooms.

Nobody is safe in the "hood." How much melanin you have in your skin does not dictate your behavior or what happens to you.

Your ACTIONS do. The actions of your parents. The actions of your friends. The actions of your teachers. They all play a role in how you grow up.

Your skin color doesn't. Not in this country.
