Hello again, Pedes! I've seen a lot of people asking about gun laws, and in particular how to legally obtain a firearm. Additionally, folks want to know how to get a concealed carry permit.
Not to worry, Pedes! There's a website for that! Handgunlaw.us has information for all 50 states, and there's a ton of helpful information there for current gun owners, too! Can I carry in a bar? Do I have a duty to inform a law enforcement officer that I'm armed? Where can I or can't I carry? Answers at https://handgunlaw.us/
I have no affiliation with them, but they seem to keep their information up to date, and the site is useful if you're traveling out of state. They also have a reciprocity map, so you can see other states where your permit is valid.
Hope this helps!
FOPA should apply if the owner is legally allowed to possess in the state of origin and the state of destination, though. Just have to go far enough to be legal lol
I found a lot of grey area on NJ to NY. Was going to have to do a full transfer through dealer. Going from NY to NJ no problem. Again I explain all of this to people because they think it's the wild wild west and that responsible gun owners follow the laws. Another stupid one in NY, 10round mag cap but you can only load 7. Look up NY safe act for some laughs.
I would look up the safe act, but I'm a grown man, and I don't want anyone to see me crying :D
