The chief came out and gave a brief speech acknowledge what happened in MPLS was wrong and how the <town> PD constantly trains in proper protocols, updates them as needed, fully investigates any complaints. etc. however they would not take a knee as it is political issue.
The BLM crowd was very upset at this and talking among them selves and speeches they were saying this just proves they are all bad cops, they want to kill us, fuck 12, etc. The Chief let them have the rant and came back and offered to pray with them, they "accepted" that but still demanded them to kneel. After the prayer they stomped off mostly upset they couldn't get them to kneel.
Their goal was to get a photo op that changes nothing or has no discussion about issues. They wanted symbolism over substance and didn't get it. I will be writing the chief a letter this weekend to thank him.
