Normally I don't do conspiracy theories, but we're long since into the age of everybody whipping out their phones and recording police incidents. Derek knew he was being recorded--if I remember correctly, he was looking right at the camera more than once. He knows he's being taped, but that knee stays on that neck. Why. Makes no sense.
Conspiracy theory: what if Derek killed George Floyd specifically to set off a riot??? We saw that already with--I think it was the Christchurch shooting??--where the shooter deliberately pushed every single politically-correct button, and then SAID in his manifesto that his goal was to set off a race war. Makes me wonder if Derek was up to some of that.
I mean, "I'm not letting him get up to talk while the cameras are rolling" is a reasonable explanation, no? Also could have been waiting for him to pass out, not necessarily to die.
The theory could be total bunk, but to me it fills a lot of the gaps, and is entirely in the realm of plausibility, without the need of a massive cover-up conspiracy.
I agree about not doing drugs and not passing counterfeit currency, but I'm still not convinced this was a law enforcement action.

There was a lot of talk about the counterfeit money early on. "Derek" was just pissed their operation was at risk because of Floyd.
In the world of conspiracies, the simplest one is more often the correct one.
DOH! I completely forgot about that. Those two worked at the SAME PLACE. And people have certainly been willing to kill each other over twenty bucks.
Possibly. But it does not explain Chauvin killing Floyd slowly and deliberately in front of witnesses with a camera rolling.
